I don't think their product is special compared to other places. It tastes good, but I don't necessarily think that it pushes the bar. It's just exactly what you would expect from an outdoor ice cream location. If you are in the area, I can recommend stopping by. They have a decent selection. I will warn that it may be difficult to get here if you are on the wrong side of the road. Legally, you aren't supposed to make turns from the other side. If you are heading towards Mays Landing, there is a exit that you can take that will let you drive on the overpass and then immediately exit onto the other lane right in front of Custard Castle. **Updated to Custard Castles Response.... I'm not sure who is making up these prices or doing the math but we were there the night before and bought the SAME kind of "sundae" and an ice cream sandwich and the total came out to $11.41 including tax.... whoever it was that "explained" it to my wife, not my friend, couldn't even do the correct math when they were explaining the prices. the prices they were giving would have totaled almost $11 for that same "sundae" that my wife was charged $8.80 for LOL. common, gotta do...

My family came here for YEARS (we’re talking since 2010) coming back home from the Jersey Shore and Custard Castle was always a STAPLE of a fantastic summer beach day. To my unfortunate surprise, with the new ownership the recipe for the custard is no longer the same (even if they say it is IT IS NOT!!!). I always get a black&white milkshake and once it was ready the lady hands me my shake and made a point to say “next time order it like a twist smoothie”.
