La Posada Bar and Grill — Restaurant in Hamilton Township

We tried your restaurant about 2 weeks ago. Here is my honest review and I understand you just opened. The vibe inside was very disappointing. Felt like we were in a time warp as the inside hadn’t changed a bit from the last restaurant. No Mexican decorations, dark and dingy, holes in the seats of the booths. There are a few other Mexican restaurants in Mays Landing right now and the atmosphere is open and airy and decorated beautifully with a Mexican atmosphere. Besides music in the background, the place is totally outdated and you wouldn’t even know you were in a Mexican restaurant. Ordered unsweetened iced tea and told they don’t have it. Chips and dips were very good, steak in the nachos and burrito were kind of tough and chewy for the price. Sour cream and side condiments that are usually served with Mexican we had to ask for and weren’t included. Service was very good. I know several other people who tried it in the last few weeks and commented on the inside atmosphere of it not being like a truly Authentic Mexican restaurant. The margarita’s were horrible. Way too sour. Could hardly drink them. The food was terrible. We ordered fajitas, burritos, and tacos. The meat was extremely tough and chewy as well as very dry not juicy at all. All of the meals did not come with any of the fixings (salsa, cheese etc.)Over priced meals and drinks. I came here when this place was still an Italian restaurant and it was decent. But now, this new restaurant is phenomenal. Great food, incredibly delicious appetizers with great portion sizes. The restaurant is on Harding Hwy so it’s very quiet, not many people were in the restaurant so it was very peaceful. They still had Latin music playing to keep the vibe up.
