Lovett's Family Steakhouse — Restaurant in Hamilton

I want to start this off with this place was SO embarrassing… I went one time and it was decent and then I decided to bring my family that came to town and it was completely different from the night I came, an absolute nightmare actually.

The waitresses acted like they wanted us gone, we barely got to even read the menu while they repeatedly asked us if we were ready to order.. (Edit to add: We also ordered an appetizer that was good and we giggled about the size of it. The name of it was “Hamilton Trash” the waitress tells us there’s actually a lot less on it than usual. Why am I paying full price for something I’m not even getting a full plate of? I didn’t mind much since I knew we wouldn’t eat it all.. but what’s the point in paying for that much?) We got our food and half of it was burnt or frozen.. No in between. I ordered a medium rare steak that came out well done, the sides were frozen. When we politely asked, (and I almost NEVER ask.. I just decide not to eat), they complained they had a FIFTEEN year old working in the kitchen. When we went to check out, they further embarrassed me by being rude to my mom who came to town. I was infuriated, I had to walk away before I got ugly. They are 100% lucky my fiance was the one paying because as soon as she said “not all places are the same” to my MOM I almost said, “well now your pay isn’t the same” It takes NOTHING to be nice. She was busy with my sister who is very young compared to me. The age gap is entirely different. Dealing with a kid is hard when you’re trying to read the menu and choose for yourself and your picky kid. Everyone was SO inconsiderate. I cannot tell you how downright angry and embarrassed I am. I wish I wouldn’t have even paid and just walked out.

A minor complaint, the bathrooms are huge and there’s no changing table within them. The changing table is located out in the open. I’d prefer not to flash everyone with my child. This is wildly inappropriate. This is 2024, changing tables should be in BOTH restrooms.

Food is terrible and the people are shady. Bit into a frozen piece of broccoli. The waitress apologized and said they had a 15year old cooking. Started eating my macaroni and by the time I hit the middle it was cold, but at least it wasn’t frozen! I didn’t say anything because I had already complained once. My oldest daughter’s onion rings were burnt and her steak was chewy and tasted off (as was mine). Like the steak was old. My youngest’s burger was burnt and gagged on the macaroni. My oldest daughter’s boyfriend couldn’t eat his steak because it was too chewy. We had a table full of uneaten food. We assumed maybe it was because a 15year old was the cook? Looked at the ticket and noticed we were charged for our second side item. When I asked about it one of the waitresses said, “yeah, we’re not allowed to tell you” the other said, “it says it on the menu”. I told her I was busy trying to get my seven year old to pick food and a side item all while trying to figure out my food. Most places do two sides, so I assumed my steak came with two. The waitress stated, “not all places are the same”. Yeah but most places do and if they are different they let people know. The second waitress repeated, “yeah, we aren’t aloud to tell you” and then further stated, “oh my gosh, that sounds bad”. Yeah, that sounds bad, sounds like y’all are purposely trying to deceive people. The older waitress walked over with the menu pointing and states, “it says right here the steaks come with one side!”. Then starts asking a teen (I hoping not the cook) if she wanted someone to bring her medicine and that she needed to let her know before he left for there. Too much was going on so I just paid and left. They never have to worry about us eating...

Asked for (FRIED) blackened chicken and got this…. I distinctly asked for fried, not grilled. Most the time I’d just eat it and go on with my life but this is definitely NOT the first time it’s happened. In fact the last 3 times I’ve placed an order this exact same thing has happened. So this time, it being the third time in a roll it’s happened. I decided to call oh’Brian’s. A Woman answers the phone, I tell her about my experience and why I’m unhappy with my order. After this she proceeds to tell me that “they have cut the grills off and that there is noting they can really do about it except give me an apology…. Apology’s are free, food isn’t smh. A refund would be nice if nothing else. Moral of the story, the food is good but make sure to be EXTREMELY detailed with what you want, and make sure to ALWAYS check your food before you pay. $30 and a 15min drive back home just to still be hungry and $30...
