Roger's Harvest House — Restaurant in Hamilton

My husband and I heard that this was a great place to eat. We went in at 11 am on a Sunday morning… keep in mind we had never been there before….. First off, we were NEVER even greeted or asked if we needed a seat or anything!!!?? We had no idea that we were supposed to find our own table!!! A sign saying seat yourself or maybe an employee that cared enough to let us know would have been nice. We sat down and were told by 3 different people that they would be”right with us”… we did finally get a waitress… her first question to us is “ do you need menus?” Well… of course we do!!! We have never been here!!! Next thing we know some lady comes into the dining area and SCREAMS!! “I DONT HAVE ANY CHICKEN AND I DONT HAVE ANY MEATLOAF!” We looked at each other and said well ok then… so let’s see what we CAN order…..The menu says breakfast is done at 11am… so we went directly to lunch…. Well had we known… a large group came in after us and ordered omelets and they were served breakfast… ????? It gets better… A waitress ( NOT OURS) comes to our table with 3 plates of food ( which we did NOT order) and says “Was there someone else here?” We looked at each other thoroughly confused… we had no idea what she was talking about!!! She finally made contact with who was “supposed “ to be our waitress and figured out that she had the entirely WRONG order….they gave us what was right and brought the rest out 1/2 way through our meal…..ok? While we were eating a tall, young gentleman who wore gym shorts and a tshirt (looked like he just rolled out of bed) came out to the salad bar with a tray of “fresh” lettuce and took the old tray out to add to the new one and LITERALLY scooped the old lettuce into the new pan with his BARE HANDS!!! RIGHT IN FRONT IF US LIKE IT WAS NORMAL!!!! 🤢 This was after I ate a side salad!! Now I’m worried I’m going to be sick!!!! I couldn’t eat my food after seeing that but my husband wanted to take it with us because we were paying for it…so…….YES! You guessed it !! I went to a side countertop and found my own to go container!! Our waitress never came back after bringing the correct food…..I guess it’s serve yourself here unless you’re a “regular” and then they will take care of you!?? We paid our bill and left and I’m telling you that I am HUGE tipper!! This was literally the FIRST time in my life that I walked out of a restaurant and left NO TIP!!! I know the waiters work for tips!! But this entire experience was ridiculous!! They could have cared less if we were there to pay for food and service or not!! I have never felt so unappreciated or dismissed!! Sorry for the long rant…but maybe hearing this will help!??

First, and most off, i’ve been trying to call this place this Rogers for over an hour and it’s been busy because I wanted to speak to a manager can never get through when I called it’s always busy the experience you will probably not post this on your website because it’s not gonna be a very good one, but I do want to let you know I had 285-year-old people call this morning asking if they could hold a plate further fried steak and of course they said they can’t like a first come first serve OK that’s fine but the ladies took the order and said she would hold the plate for him while before they had left this evening about 530 they had called and asked if they could hold a plate for them. They were on their way. The lady said yes we will hold you a plate they get there they walk in. They sit at a table for over 25 minutes they weren’t even acknowledged nothing to drink nothing which is the main part that upset me. The most is the fact that two elderly people sat at a restaurant for over 25 minutes. We weren’t even acknowledged it wasn’t so much they didn’t have the food as they sat there for 25 minutes. They finally were approached, asked about their plate and was told that their plate had been sold and they don’t have anymore which is fine but the fact that he called five minutes they said they would hold it. They drove all the way over there to get the plate. It was sold. They sat there for 25 minutes before they were acknowledged. Not a sorry nothing they got up and walked out very terrible experience and I will never allow them to come back there again. I am so disappointed in how they were treated. It wasn’t the fact that they didn’t have their plates. It was the fact that they’re elderly people and the way they were treated and the server was absolutely rotten. Very rude not even an apology. This place must be very desperate to keep their servers as how rude, and how they were treated very...

We waited 45 minutes and we didn’t get our food so I asked the lady who brought our drinks how much longer it would be because we hadn’t seen our waitress since we ordered. She came back and said the waitress said it should be out any minute. Then I see the waitress grab these two boxes that were sitting on the counter for about a half an hour and plate them. She was going to serve us cold food. She was just gonna put it on a plate after it’s been sitting for half an hour and serve us cold omelettes. There was no apology. There was nothing . we wasted over an hour and didn’t get to eat. I think the worst part about it is she put the cold food on a plate to serve us after it was sitting there for a half an hour and Styrofoam boxes.

Called and talked to the owner. he said that everybody should work in the restaurant business and mistakes happen. he didn’t seem to care at all. Serving food that’s been sitting out for half an hour is a...
