My boyfriend and I went to this restaurant this past Saturday for my birthday. We made a somewhat last minute reservation through their Google page. When we arrived, the parking lot was jam packed full. The tavern was full of people and they were playing music. The dining room side had a seperate entrance. When we walked in there were probably 12 people waiting to be sat. It was a full house! We arrived 15 minutes before our reservation, half expecting that they wouldn't even have our reservation on the books since we had only made it 3 hours prior. The hostess stated they were just waiting for a clean table for us. We were sat within 5 minutes! Our server, which I forgot his name, unfortunately, was so kind and efficient. Checked in with us, but didn't hover too much, and we always had anything we needed. He even wrapped our leftovers for us. (I'm sorry I forgot his name, but we were sat at the first 2 seats by the window.) The food. OMG the food! We come from the Boston area, and I was raised my a Sicilian grandmother, so I am picky when it comes to Italian food. We got the calamari (spicy), mussels and clams fradiavlo, a salad, Del Monico steak, and baked Rigatoni. Wow! The portions are huge, which I don't normally expect when I go to a quality restaurant. It's usually either large portions or good food. You very rarely get both, lol. Here you do! The cocktails were good. The only gripe I have is I wish they had a bigger Italian white wine selection available such as Vermentino, Vernacchia, and Orvieto. But that is literally the only negative thing I could say about this place. In the entry way, you can even see inside the kitchen, which my boyfriend noticed was very clean. I am new to Western Mass, and we are both former service industry folks, and I can't tell you enough how impressed we were by this place. I highly recommend Casa Bella and I definitely suggest making a reservation on the weekends! Try this place! It will become your new favorite! Thank you for a...
Read moreAren't loyalty programs supposed to reward customer loyalty?!?!?Last night was my third time going to this restaurant in the last 6 weeks since my first visit there. I liked it so much the first time, I came back two more times with various people. It wasn't until last night that I saw there was a loyalty program as it was on the television in the bar, where I'd never sat before. I asked about it and went to the hostess station to sign up. I asked if I was able to show my credit card statements from the last visits if they could give me the points and was told they could. When I finished my meal I brought my receipt (the enter your point manually) and my credit card statements on my phone. I was told by the very rude woman at the counter that they couldn't do that because they had no way of going back and I should have signed up sooner! She then informed me that she was the owner and has no idea why the hostess told me they would do that.
I'm not sure why the waitstaff wouldn't ask people if they're rewards members when they bring the check, but apparently, it was my job to be aware of this program. As mentioned, I was there several times with various groups of people and none of us noticed this program (which is on the menu somewhere but blends in with everything else and not very noticeable). I guess I'm just not sure why you would refuse to reward someone's loyalty that just recently started coming to your establishment and has brought new business every time. It's not like I wasn't able to show them what my total was on the last visits and was just asking for random points for no reason. And if your establishment did a better job at letting people know, you would have given me the points already anyway. It's funny that the owner was being so cheap about the points (which result in free items) but doesn't care about losing customers,...
Read more0 stars THE OWNER MAKES THIS PLACE EVEN WORSE! We had a group of 14 celebrating my father's 97th. birthday. When my daughter ordered an appetizer she was told she couldn't get it because we were sitting in the dining room and not the bar. The appetizer she wanted is only on the bar menu. She asked if she ordered it at the bar could she bring it back to the dining room to eat it. She was told by the owner, Gina “no". Instead of allowing this item to be ordered we were told that they would move all 14 of us to the bar. This Is a birthday party for 97 year old. A bar is not the setting for that. My daughter gave a negative review because of this. The owner, Gina came out to the table and confronted my daughter on her review. She then told my daughter that it wasn't fair to give a negative review. Gina then said that she was going to allow my daughter to order the appetizer but when she read her review she decided not to. She then told us that we are not allowed to come back because of the review. She did this in the main dining room in front of other customers. She was very disrespectful, rude and obnoxious. As for the food, the meatballs were inedible, two pieces out of three of prime rib were tough, the spaghetti was terrible and one of the chicken franceaise had no lemon. The potatoes were cold. The scallops and salad however were good. This owner, Gina has no right being in this business. She doesn't know anything about customer service and to ban someone because she didn't like the review is cause for a law suit. I guess she thought we were stupid enough to want to go back. The workers said she was in the back fuming over the negative review. Guess she has an anger problem to have to attack someone because if...
