🥞Allen’s Corner Diner ✨ Located on the edge of Hampshire, IL its a small little spot next to Allen’s Towing. This diner has been around for over 100 years! Its a small little place with big character and rich history. The food was 10/10 but the service was 100/10! This breakfast and lunch spot is the epitome of small town diner in the best ways, welcoming, friendly people, life long locals and delicious food. Allen’s Corner Diner is worth the drive if you are not near by. It is a cash only restaurant but there is an ATM on site you can use. We will absolutely be back! 🎟️ Cash ONLY ⏰: Daily 6am-2pm 📍44W483 US-20, Hampshire, IL 60140 #chicagoland #chicagosuburbs #thingstodowithkids #familyfriendly #chicagofoodie #hampshireillinois #placestoeat #breakfastspot #lunchspot Food in Hampshire Illinois

Not sure how this spot ended up being bookmarked. It was a beautiful Monday morning for a drive and I had them on my calendar for a while. I've been good with nutrition lately, but diverted back to one of my favorites. The biscuits and gravy were suggested by my server. There wasn't much gravy. (which helps the calorie count) The sunnyside up eggs were served well done. Egg whites were golden brown and not much ooze from the yolk. Well water was nasty. Servers seemed like they'd rather be doing something else, not a very bubbly personality. Doubtful I'd make the pilgrimage again. I could see this place packed on the weekends as it was full on a Monday by 9:30am. Seems like lots of regulars visit which hang out and socialize. I ordered, ate and left and a large group of regulars hadn't even ordered. I heard the server say "There's no tables right know" to a party of 2, and I went outside to free up my table and finish my coffee. It does have that small town charm I like. There's also a great story of their humble beginnings from 1921 on the menu. I'll bump them up to 3.5 stars, just was expecting more.

Venturing into the countryside, I stumbled upon Allen's Corner Diner – an absolute gem of a find. From the moment I stepped inside, it felt like stepping back in time to the golden age of diners. Let's talk about the food – oh my, where do I start? The biscuits and gravy were a revelation, each bite a perfect blend of comfort and flavor. And my special omelette? Let's just say it was a flavor explosion that left me speechless. But the real surprise came with the hashbrowns – crispy perfection on the outside, fluffy goodness on the inside. And the pancakes? They were like a warm hug from grandma herself. Now, here's the kicker – the prices. For the quality of food you get, it's downright unbelievable. In a world where dining out often means breaking the bank, finding a place like Allen's Corner Diner is a rare treat. In short, Allen's Corner Diner isn't just a place to eat – it's an experience. A taste of nostalgia that'll leave you craving more. Trust me, you won't regret making the trip.

Recently found this place. It reminded me of the diners of old. My waitress was very nice and informed me of the daily special that day. "Country fried steak and eggs with gray". It was exceptional and tasty to say the least. Though it wasn't very busy. I found my hash brown's not so good. They were burnt in areas and they were not hot? I can't help but feel as if "they may have used a previous batch". But I obviously can't prove that. All in all a very good breakfast. I liked it enough to go back a second time. Everybody, every place deserves a second chance. On my second visit I was asked to try their skirt steak and eggs. "Everything" was delicious and hot. I will be returning again. I'm glad I went back, and will...
