Overlook Restaurant - Virtues Golf Club Restaurant — Restaurant in Hanover Township

Was here on a weekend evening with some friends. Our waitress was training another gentlemen. He was very nice, but clearly was very new and needed the guidance of his trainer. She came to the table at the beginning to help him get some of our drinks, but never returned until we received the bill. She was so rude with the first three of us to arrive. It felt like we were a bother to her. When the gentlemen took our order, he could not answer any questions we had because he definitely did not know the menu. This is to be expected when you are new, but she should have been there to help him the entire time. Our food came out great with no issues. She came back to help him run our cards on their portable system. After the bills were paid, he immediately came back out and cleared our entire table. Not just our dinner plates, but OUR DRINKS THAT WERE STILL FULL!! Everything was stripped from our table. When my friend asked what was going on, he replied with “she told me to come out and clear The table because we close at eight.” He clearly did not know better. Having worked in the restaurant industry before I knew this was not right. We didn’t plan on staying late, but would have at least liked to finished our drinks. She sent him out there to do her dirty work to get us to leave sooner. I was absolutely appalled!!! Not a cheap place to eat to have this kind...

Dined here for New Year's Eve. It was horrible. We arrived to a lobby full of people waiting to be seated (despite all having timed reservations) and were told "nobody has left yet, we can't seat you". When finally seated (20 minutes late) our party of 4 was sat at a table for 6. They should have broke the extra table off to size our table properly and seat one of the many parties of 2 that were still waiting. They were already out of the hot appetizer option. Our waiter greeted us with "You're just having waters tonight, right?" and we were never offered a wine list or cocktail menu. We were never provided bread plates. Salad and appetizer courses were brought to the table at the same time, we then waited over an hour for the entree. Dessert course was brought before entree dishes were cleared. Food was mediocre, steak was overcooked (waiter did notice and to his credit brought a replacement, even though we said it would be fine) and creme brûlée had no hardened, caramelized sugar on top. The evening was memorable, but for all the wrong reasons. We wanted an upscale evening out to celebrate the holiday and got anything but. Huge...

Our group of friends went to Virtues for our group Christmas dinner last evening (Sunday, Dec. 10, 2023). We had high hopes based on what we heard about the place. What a disappointment! To begin with, the room was freezing (bar dining room). To be comfortable, you needed to wear your winter coat while eating dinner. Not good. We ordered our food and waited over an hour to get it, despite being the only table in the room. When we finally got our food, it was cold. I knew I was in trouble when I put butter on my baked potato and it didn't even melt. Our steaks were dry and grey from overcooking. Our waiter did a disappearing act and didn't return for refills or to check on us. Needless to say, we won't go back and would caution anyone else to think twice for paying premium prices for such poor service and substandard food. The kicker was absolutely no one seemed to care that we had such a miserable experience. No manager in sight....
