We stopped in initially just to have a drink while waiting to meet up with some friends but we quickly found ourselves back later in the evening after being impressed with our short first visit and this place did not disappoint! The service was fantastic, prices were VERY reasonable and the best part - the owner was working right alongside his staff with a smile on his face the entire time. It’s very few and far between these days to find a place that hits every mark but this gem definitely does. They didn’t have take out menus so the owner took the inserts out of a dine in menu just so I could bring it home with me! I rarely give 5 stars. I was in the middle of nowhere and hungry. A quick search for nearby food led us to this amazing jewel. A great little dive bar without the dive. Incredible Pizza from homemade dough and sauce. A club sandwich too big to fit in my mouth with the lunch meat actually grilled before the sandwich was assembled on delicious Texas toast. Wonderful! From the funny sign out front to the comfortable and clean environment, fantastic service, and really great food, Shorty's is a new favorite for us! My husband said "I've had fish sandwiches from all over this country and THAT ranks at the top!" Tomato basil soup was obviously homemade and delicious, fries were awesome, the lasagna at the next table smelled and looked amazing, and the people there were oohing and ahhing.
