Saw a post on Facebook and decided to drive out. It is REALLY far from downtown Cincy. One reason I was interested was the FB description, ".. an old school, with hippie dippy decor. Comfort food. I was very disappointed about several things. Besides a sign on the front of the building, I did not see anything else about this having been a school. A history, or relevant info on the back of the menu would have been nice. The only 'hippie dippy' stuff I saw was several bumper stickers from the 60s on the refrig behind the order counter. They did have some 33 1/3 album covers from the 60s framed and on display. Many of the menu items names were 60s references. There is no real decor as such; a combination of 6-7 booths with metal leg tables and chairs for seating. There is a small band area; a list of dates and performers was listed. We surmised that we had to order at the counter, and did so. When I mentioned that I saw this on FB, the woman taking our order (?the owner, I presume) muttered, "Yeah, our biggest nightmare." I was taken aback, since I figured if your establishment is featured on FB, you should plan on a hugh uptick in business. I did hear her say they were not prepared for the crowd. (At this time, the small seating area was not half full)I had the "Marley" sandwich on health nut bread since they were out of buns. It was grilled, and actually tasted good; the pineapple made up for the heaviness if the ham and provolone. The side salad was some iceberg with crouton cubes, one grape tomato and a smattering of shredded cheese. My friend had the "Farm Aid " sandwich which she liked. She also liked the potato salad. Unfortunately, the fact that they appeared to be so unprepared, understaffed, and a less than interesting interior means I will not be back. A long drive for an unimpressive,...

The pulled-chicken barbecue sandwich is better than most I have ever eaten at establishments holding themselves out to be dedicated to BBQ; the portion of chicken is generous, tender, but not overcooked. The sauce itself is tasty, but not overwhelming the chicken. This delectable combination was served on a very nice Brioche bun and not a cheap piece of bread full of air.
My wife had a Hawaiian style grilled cheese sandwich and a tomato bisque that she liked equally well. The grilled cheese came out perfectly toasted...I actually thought to myself, "That's beautiful!". I tasted the bisque and it ranks high amongst any I have eaten.
Bottom line is this...these are friendly people that love to cook. You can see (and taste) the attention to detail. So, if you are hungry after a day of kayaking out on Stone Lick Lake, take the short detour to have some lunch at this fine establishment...you won't be...

They offer wraps, paninis, quesadilla, salads, soups, chili, sandwiches and desserts. Also known for their grilled cheese sandwiches, 16 varities! Budget friendly.
