The View Restaurant & Bar — Restaurant in Harris Township

While COVID is a prime factor for businesses being short staffed and things getting delayed. My husband and I both have a job history of being in the food industry, we respect the hustle! However, coming here was such a huge disappointment! No one greeted us while we waited almost ten minutes to be seated. We waited patiently. No one asked if we wanted to sit outside And I guess we couldn't bc every table was full of dirty dishes. The wait staff wanted to only pay attn to the groups that we're still outside. We when we were seated we were taken to a table with the blinds down when we wanted to see the Beautiful view even if we weren't permitted to sit outside with the cool kids. When a wait staff finally came to greet us it was close to 15 minutes after being seated. (A now total of 25 minutes since our arrival) The manager is dressed sloppy and doesn't have a pleasant demeanor at all it looks like he just rolled out of bed and grabbed dirty clothing! He doesn't do much to help or support his staff, as there was only 2 of them in that huge area. When we get our drinks, the beer isn't very cold and my mojito is so sour I can hardly drink it! Our dinner was white pizza....diced tomatoes? and the crust was so undercooked it was awful😟 flavor was good but wow, again... disappointed! We were so excited to come here and eat from that beautiful deck and relax after moving our daughter to Penn State and wanted a nice evening out before our trip back home. So I can't express how upset we were that literally it seemed like everything possible went wrong and was awful 😟 whatever needs to happen to help this area run better, needs to occur...

I would give it no stars, if that was a choice! We never had a chance to taste the food at The View. We had an 8pm reservation and were seated at our table. The waitress came over and took our drink orders. She came back 15 minutes later and told us she could not find the wine that I ordered and that we could not place an order for any food for 45 minutes!!! No explanation for this. She said it would be a very long wait for the food after we ordered as well. At this point it was 8:25 and very late to start looking for other restaurants with availability. We asked if she could at least bring us some bread or something to nibble on with our drinks while we were waiting for 45 minutes to order our food. But she said they would be angry with her in the kitchen if they saw her walking out with something! This was the worst customer service I have ever experienced in a restaurant. I am not blaming the waitress, but management should’ve called us an cancelled during the day if this was an issue. We could’ve possibly found somewhere else to dine. We were visiting our son for a college weekend and he was looking forward to having a nice meal. We later heard that the restaurant has alot of issues with help. We have been frequent patrons for over 10 years. We have seen this place have its ups and downs. These last few months, things have really gone downhill. We regularly order the Loaded Nacho Board and the French Fry Board. The portion size was DRASTICALLY reduced our last visit. They dropped one of the containers of dipping sauce from the board when they delivered it to the table. They just left it there, all over the floor under the table under our feet and brought us another one. The beer cheese was so dried out that it was clumpy. I mentioned the portion size to the waitress but she didn't seem concerned. This used to be one of our favorite places to frequent, but this is the second negative experience in a row. I used to recommend both boards to everyone! I can no longer do so in good conscience. We live nearby, so I'm sure we will give them another chance. I will edit/update my review accordingly when/if we return as I truly do not like to leave negative feedback; but I feel I must be honest and forthcoming. They also had a live musician who was way too loud for the space. You couldn't even have a conversation. I enjoy listening to music and he had a nice voice, but it was just way, way too loud! I truly hope next time things...
