Okay, so I hate to post negative reviews, (if you read my other reviews you'll see that I generally follow the adage that if you don't have something nice to say, don't say anything at all but I have to say something to save my conscience) but I adamantly do not recommend this place for food. I will start my breakdown with the positive things I can say. The views were wonderful. The server was top tier (the hostess was sassy though.) If you are looking for somewhere to go for a quick drink and some chips and salsa, this is a great spot. Also, and this is the only reason they got 2* for food instead of 1, the chunky guacamole was great. The salsa is also pretty decent. And now for the reasons why I will not recommend this restaurant. My first and foremost complaint is that the food is all clearly reheated/canned/purchased pre-made (except the chunky guacamole). This was apparent by the flavor (lack thereof technically.) I have never tasted food that bland being called Mexican food. It was also obvious because it came out literally 5 minutes (or less) after ordering. We had a good sized order because we had never been here so it should have been at least 20 minutes if it were even semi freshly prepared. I had the Tour de Mexico. I tried every type of meat they had and they were all definitely canned/packaged. There is no way it was anything but premade at that speed of delivery. My second complaint is much smaller but my "brewed iced tea" was literally water. Even when I dumped some on my plate, the color was so faint it's no wonder it didn't have any flavor. I have a sensitive palate and even I barely tasted anything beyond water. I reiterate that this is a great spot for a casual drink with a friend with a great view, but that is it.

We were in town camping at the State Park and visiting family. Wanted a place on the water to get some lunch. We found Amigos Mexican restaurant on the water! We are excited about that and the reviews were good so we gave it a try. From the outside it looks good but once you walk in the door you can tell this place needs a DEEP cleaning. We decided to give it a try…we should have trusted our first impression. We were seated out by the lane with a great view of the lake. That said the place was filthy. Our waitress was pretty good and she was very attentive. We ordered off the lunch menu. My wife ordered lunch #7 with a tamale, flauta and a chimichanga. I got Lola’s Tapito. Wife started to eat her flauta and there was a pretty good size piece of plastic in it! 😳 we told the waitress she was kind and wife ordered a couple soft tacos instead, which she didn’t eat all of them. Needless to say she didn’t have much of an appetite after that. Also ordered a frozen margarita no salt only to have our waitress come back and tell her the machine that makes them was broken and brought a regular one with salt! Chips…okay they are tortilla chips but the first bowl we received must have been the bottom of the bag as the chips were mostly crumbs! Now all of that to say we had a bad experience and while we’re just passing through probably won’t come back if we’re in the area again. I do give our waitress credit she didn’t charge us for my wife’s meal at all. I’m sure during the summer this place is rocking, maybe if it slacks off during the winter months some cleaning would be in the agenda.

It looked OK when we first walked in but then noticed that there wasn't a lot of people and the Majority of them was there to drink we where there to eat but we didn't mind anyone there so that was OK well I talk to one waiter he was supposed of answer a question for me which meant for him to go ask someone him self well then all of a sudden we have a Waitress it was shift changed so guess what my first waiter never came back with a answer well anyways ordered the food didn't take long at all which seemed really fast and we had ordered shrimp steak and chicken so it all seemed some what off putting go to take a bite and it was like cutting through rubber and I had the chicken. Really wish and hope this may help and not make anyone mad but I would love to go back if the food wash fresher cause the location is to die for I mean right on the river side with a nice view so I hope this is a lesson learned and no feelings hurt thanks And P.S the Salsa and chip where amazing

Walked in for the 1st time (and the last) we were told it was a 45 minute wait so I asked if there was a place to get a drink while we wait. We had been working outside all day and really wanted a glass of tea. We were directed to the bar. When we went in there were several tables with no chairs and 1 booth open so we sat down at the booth. About 3 minutes later the hostess (and I use that term loosely) came over and very rudely said "You can't sit here,I didn't seat you here. You're going to have to move." So we got up managed to scrounge up 4 chairs to use one of the mty/chairless tables. No sooner did we seat there and here comes the "Chair Mayor" as I referred to in the end telling us we couldn't sit there either. So about this time some space at the bar opened up so we took our chairs and sat at the bar, ordered our drinks and waited for a table. Finally about 5 minutes after we got our drinks the pager goes off. The "Chair Mayor" now sets us AT THE SAME TABLE WE SAT AT ORIGINALLY!!! Then to put icing on the cake our waiter who said he didn't need to write down our orders screwed up 3 of the 4 orders, (My wife ordered cheese enchiladas with onions, she got 2 cheese enchiladas and a cup of raw onions on the side.) Anyway bottom line is we will never darken the doorway of that place again. The service sucked and it's a poor excuse for Mexican food as well.

BTW, tried to call the manager but the 1st number I found was out of service and the next one was...
