Read moreThis was my second attempt at this restaurant. I thought the first time maybe it was an honest mistake, 2nd time and 200 plus dollars to feed my family this is the slop that was given. I bought my sister and her husband dinner along with my own family to be nice, but hers was worse than mine. Change your nasty oil. I can't honestly believe this was served to a human. Our dog would not even eat it. As bad ad the economy is right now this is even more money wasted. I had to cook dinner after ordering from here. And I have to drive to pick it up. I guess after ordered 2 meals for two large families it's my fault for not checking every single package. I know this is not the BBQ ranch I had earlier in life. This food is horrible. When called back they hang up saying well come back for more. Who in there right mind would drive an additional 20 minutes out of their way for burnt nasty. I'd show yall the fries, but my daughter threw them in tha garbage disposal because they were chard and burnt black. Their cheese sticks were also burnt black. A camp fire burnt marshmallows would be more appetizing. This is expensive, and ridiculous. Please sort orser from here. Unless you enjoy old greasy, burnt black food. I'm now afraid my grass will die from what's been 🤢 up from my 3 year old. He ate it before I could take it away. I never write restaurant reviews but I'm beyond disgusted. Why would you serve this? You can see what you're putting into a container. You would never give this trash to your family so why give it to mine? NO WONDER THERES BEEN GREASE FIRES HERE, CAUSE YOU CLEARLY DONT CHANGE...
Read moreI love to try different BBQ joints as I travel. Seen this place over the last couple of years & finally decided to stop in.
The atmosphere inside was what I expected from the outside, but (as I noted with 3 stars) it was just okay. Nothing special that I had not seen before. Hoping it would have been a bit more unique.
I looked at the menu and asked for a "BBQ plate." I was asked if I wanted slaw on the BBQ or on the side. I chose fries for my side. Hushpuppies came with the dinner. I asked for unsweetened iced tea.
When the food arrived, I had a small (kid sized?) BBQ sandwich (with what I would call truck stop/ slow cooker/bland tomato-sauced pork mincemeat with onions in it), lukewarm fries, cold hushpuppies, and a cup of super-sweet slaw. The tea was obviously from a fountain drink dispenser and not brewed. After the initial confusion of seeing these portions and tasting food that was not hot, I caught the waitress' attention and asked if what I got was a BBQ plate. She responded that it was. I said I did not expect to get the BBQ on a bun since it was a plate. She said (not in a mean way) that next time I should make sure to ask for no bun.
There will be no next time. The other food may be good, but if BBQ is the thing in your name, the pork should be distinctive, flavorful, and at least show that you put some effort in making something unique.
I wish I had read some of the other reviews...
