Stopped in with my family of 4 for a late lunch. Waited a while to be greeted and seated, waited a while for the drink order, waited even longer for the food order... And it's not like they were busy, there was hardly anyone there. All in all, it took a whole hour, which is a long time for lunch. The Mai Tai tasted like it was just pineapple juice, but my husband enjoyed the beers. He said his burger was cooked well. The calzones looked huge but they were mostly air pocket. My youngest enjoyed the kids chicken tenders meal.
I was disappointed they didn't have pasties on the menu except for frozen to-go orders. Seems odd to sell them that way but not have one on the menu to order for lunch. I was debating whether or not to get some to go. The menu said all dough was vegan so I asked the waitress if the pasty dough was too (it's traditonally made with beef suet which is definitely not vegan), and she didn't know. She said she would check. When she came back she had forgotten to ask. Later she came back and confirmed the pasties were not made with the vegan dough. So then I asked what kind they had because the menu didn't say and some places have a variety of fillings. She said she didn't know because she's never had one before, but she thought there was meat, vegetable, or cheese. Considering that traditional pasties are meat and vegetables, I asked if she could check because she didn't sound like she had any idea really. She disappeared around the corner and said "These people and their f**king pasties!" Keep in mind I have only asked if the dough was vegan and what was in the pasties. Maybe don't be a waitress if you can't handle people asking a couple basic questions about the items on the menu! And it's not like it was the end of a long day and she was tired or anything, they had only been open 2hrs by the time we left and like I said they weren't even busy. When it was time to go she was behind the bar telling some lady all about the sweaters they were selling, and she was practically modeling them. Maybe she should go find a job at the mall instead because she sure liked talking about clothes and not food. There was a guy bussing a table next to us and he was super nice and asked if my husband needed another beer (no idea where our waitress was) and asked if he wanted a sample of a different kind to see if he liked it before ordering a whole glass of it. That guy was great, you should replace that girl with more people like that guy. We normally tip very well, because we've worked in the restaurant industry before and we get it. We would have happily over-tipped that guy. Unfortunately the only tip we felt comfortable leaving that girl was "Don't cuss about...
Read moreWe heard about this place from some associates so we decided to stop Saturday after the Harrisville Craft Show Labor Day Weekend.
Upon pulling into the parking lot. The building is pretty cool. Alpine town type decor. Parking is in the back and was easy to access. Upon entering the restaurant. They have several rooms all alpine decor. Rich woods and whites for contrast. Clean. Staff was very attentive. We waited outside on a covered patio for about 20 minutes before being seated. Not bad considering a holiday weekend.
We sat in the corner near the bar. Which from our vantage point is a popular seating area. From where we were seated. We could see the brew room as well.
Our waiter was very attentive and made suggestions and made sure we had everything we needed. A 5 all day long.
We ordered two ultimate chicken sandwiches, two burgers and a wedge salad. Along with a pretzel appetizer.
Being a holiday weekend. Some waiting is expected. Maybe a while more, but overall no issues there. Once food came. The plate appearance was spot on. Clean. Colorful and full.
Burgers cooked just liked we wanted them. Medium rare. Chicken sandwiches were juicy and well seasoned. And the wedge salad was full and packed with veggies.
Here's why three stars to be open and honest.
$14.95 for a burger no fries. May be a tad high. Pretzel all be it good. Was not $13.95. wedge salad was priced good for what she got.
Now. The peach balini drink and chocolate espresso Martini. The glasses were maybe (looking at an upward angle ) 2/3 full. Maybe less. For $10 respectfully. Presenting an almost half empty glass gives a bit of a " gipped " feeling.
Overall. Food was very good. I knock one solid star for 3% credit card fee automatically when prices are higher then average. And a same star for pricing verses what you get. A couple other reviews said pricing was slightly higher then other comparables. And I would agree.
We will keep this on our radar when we come next time for sure. :)
Thanks again to the server. He...
Read moreWhat a great addition to the area! I love having another Brewery to go to and this place did not disappoint. We went only for beer flights and appetizers and it was awesome! The decor was tasteful and well done with many beautiful elements. For example, in the woman’s bathroom, the ceiling has a gorgeous tin ceiling and even had the purse hooks in the perfect location. Also as a mother I noticed that she had a really nice changing station which is great for families. The menu isn’t overly large but I felt like there were enough choices for everyone. I did notice that there were some options crossed off, but that comes with the territory of the restaurant being new and still working in what works and what doesn’t. We ordered the smoked wings, which were large and I loved that they had a dry rub and that they weren’t deep fried. The pretzel is HUGE and big enough for everyone at the table and was super tasty. My personal favorite was the charcuterie board which was delicious, filling and had tons of choices. For the beer flights, the price is awesome and you get a 4 beers that you can try off their beer menu. All the beers I tried were awesome, I can be picky and I actually throughly enjoyed every one of them. The vanilla porter and the Amber ale were my favorites and I will definitely want to have them again. As for the service, we had Devon who was amazing. She was very friendly, had a great sense of humor and put up with our million questions. She never hesitated to get an answer to our questions and our order was put in promptly. Also it was really nice when the owner came by our table and asked how our visit went and she even stayed to chitchat for a couple of minutes. All in all I will definitely be back here again and our party of 9 all agreed that everything...
