Mom and I drove to the area to pick berries at a nearby farm (Mayfair--it was awesome) and stopped here. The Brown House Bakery and Cafe is lovely. The owners were so kind. Even though we were intruding on a closed day, they took the time to speak with us, and gave us all kinds of info about the surrounding area. A really cool story about another local farm just down the road where the original mansion was picked up and moved here brick by brick. And BETTY! Oh my gosh. All the love and pure goodness in the world wrapped up in one creature-this fuzzy sweet puppy. We actually drove up and walked in on a day they were closed (we didn't see the closed sign out at the road as we were driving--so sorry). Cheryl and the young lady who's name I didn't get (I'm sorry) were so gracious and kind and wonderful. This place restores faith in the wonderfulness in the world. She has a great selection of baked goods, cupcakes, cinnamon rolls, muffins, and pecan sticky buns. The lunch sandwiches are equally as good.
