I want to first state that the food was spectacular! But the service was by far some of the worst I’ve ever experienced there. We were not greeted at our table for at least five minutes while all of the waitresses catered to their tables and passed our table up. We were at the table sitting right where the servers enter an exit the kitchen. I had to turn around and stare at the people in the kitchen to get anybody’s attention. We were not greeted with a friendly smile, or even a “ Sorry about that wait, how are you guys doing today?” We were greeted with “what can I get you to drink?” In a very rude manner, she rolled her eyes as we finish telling her our drinks when she walked away. She proceeded to slam our drinks on the table, forget straws, and just make the overall encounter miserable. When I asked for straws, she was annoyed that I bothered to ask her. I was never rude to her, even though I could’ve been. When we ordered food, she mumbled when asked any questions, and appeared overall annoyed. We got our food and everything was wonderful! The food was not the issue. We finished, went to pay, and contemplated why she was so unhappy to be at her job. A warm, friendly personality is how you pay your bills when you are a server. If, or when I return, and she is our server, I’ll be glad to ask for somebody else. She received no tip on my end, and I was a server for seven years. To receive no tip from me means you did an absolute horrible job. Do not show up to work with a miserable attitude. I would fire her in a heartbeat, if that was my restaurant. I’m upset that I didn’t get her name because I would’ve gladly put it in this review. Brown haired lady with glasses, you truly were the worst. Serving is...
Read moreWe usually go to Porky Barn in Geneva, AL, but it was closed for the Independence Day weekend, so we decided to try this place out. Our waitress was amazing, and the main reason for the 4 stars. I sadly do not remember her name, but she wore a pink fan or something around her neck. Hopefully this will get her recognition. Due to the Independence Day weekend, and the restaurant being just off a major route to Panama City Beach, they were more than busy. The waitress said this was not a normal day at all, so our food took an incredible amount of time to be served, ad our wait to be seated was a bit lengthy, but that wasn't the restaurant's fault. The kitchen staff wasn't anywhere near prepared for the traffic. At any rate the food was not bad. They serve breakfast all day, but I had fried mushrooms. They weren't the best I had ever had, but not too bad. My nephew and his son had pancakes, cheese grits and eggs. The grits were served with a slice of cheese on top and not truly cheese grits, and the pancakes were so so in taste. I wouldn't highly recommend, nor say not to stop here. The prices for the servings are also a...
Read moreAs soon as we stepped in there was an automatic racist feel, should've left but gave it the benefit of the doubt. I ordered the spaghetti and a friend of mine ordered the catfish and because we felt uncomfortable we took it to go, on the way back home I opened my plate and the presentation was awful, you can tell that they just slapped it on the plate like they didn't care, the spaghetti sauce was so watery that it was running out of the plate, so I decided to sample it and I never tasted spaghetti so awful, it left an after taste in my mouth that is going to take days to get rid of, my friend wasn't too impressed with his plate either, I mean how can you mess up catfish?! It was fried way too hard and the Cole slaw looked like cottage cheese! Lol so disappointed due to the many good reviews I've heard on them, you have to be really hungry...
