Against The Grain Rico Sauvin, Imperial/Double IPA, 8.2% ABV - $12.29
An India Pale Ale featuring Nelson Sauvin hops named after the Sauvignon Blanc grape, a variety of hop developed and grown in New Zealand. It has a strong fruity flavor and aroma that is described as resembling white wine, or fresh crushed grapes or gooseberries. Some reviewers of this hop perceive the fruitiness as being very tropical with descriptions including passion fruit, tangerines, and grapefruit.
Allagash Curieux, Tripel, 11.0% ABV - $14.99
Allagash Curieux was our first foray into barrel aging. Curieux is made by aging our Tripel Ale in Jim Beam bourbon barrels for eight weeks in our cold cellars. The aged beer is then blended back with a portion of fresh Tripel. The resulting beer is soft with coconut and vanilla notes, with hints of bourbon.
Allagash Interlude 2015, Belgian Ale, 9.5% ABV - $18.99
Two yeast strains were used to create this unique Belgian-style ale. The first, a Saison yeast, establishes the flavor foundations of a classic Belgian-style ale.The second, our house strain of Brettanomyces yeast, contributes a myriad of flavors including pear, apricot, graham cracker, and bread crust. A portion of Interlude is aged in red wine barrels, which imparts a distinctive vinous, plum character and a drying, almost tannic finish
Allagash Tiarna, Sour Ale/Wild Ale, 7.1% ABV - $13.99
Tiarna is a blend of two beers, one aged in oak and fermented with 100% brettanomyces and the other fermented in stainless with a blend of two belgian yeast strains. Both beers were brewed with a combination of 2 row and wheat malt in addition to specialty grains. It was hopped with Hallertau, Styrian Goldings and Cascade hops. The finished beer is dark golden in color with citrus, pineapple and bread in the aroma. The flavor of this tart beer has notes of grapefruit, lemon, and bread crust, and a long, dry finish.
Alpine Green Flash Handshake IPA, India Pale Ale (IPA), 7.0% ABV - $9.99
"Friends who drink together, brew together. Hand Shake IPA is a commemorative collaboration beer brewed to celebrate the one year anniversary of the Green Flash and Alpine Beer Company union. Brewmasters Pat and Shawn Mchllhenney and Chuck Silva combined powers to create an IPA worthy of sharing with good friends. Simcoe, Mosaic, Citra and El Dorado hops create a fresh, orange peppery flavor with an earthy bitter finish. So delicious, let's toast to a beautiful friendship."

HIGHLY RECOMMENDED for local goods, snacks, and lunch! Of all places, a gas station & market in the mountains where an employee met us at the door with so much kindred and another employer stopped stocking the shelves to help us fix the coffee bean grinding machine that we struggled with to grind up a bag of locally made " maple flavored coffee." Rather than the typical "gas station" or "convenience store," this one had antique items set up as if a museum to the past precedents of what they now sell, and is packed with locally made cheeses, beers, maple syrup, candy, granola, honey, preserves, meats, crafts, cookies, and coffee. There is a nice deli, good coffee, all manner of everything else needed to support campers, hikers, bikers, and sightseers.

They answered our questions to include about local cross-country skiing and offered tips.

They told us of a local artisan whose work was for sale there, who was a sweet old man and loved by the community. Much of what was for sale was from citizens in the state. After hearing this, I made two more laps around the store.

Our original purpose for stopping there and driving a few miles off course, was to obtain some good spring water for one of our party. What a great decision. We were there...

Found Mike's completely by accident years ago when I had to get off the highway to fill up with gas. Picked up some great food and beer during that initial visit (some of the best craft beer selection I've come by), and totally forgot to mark the location on my map so I could stop by again in the future. A year or two later, by chance, came off the same exit (rarely traveled through that area before), and found it again. Ever since, it's been a staple to stop at when we're in the area. Love the food, the people, the beer selection....

I usually don’t write reviews but I had to with this place. I’ve only been there once, won’t be going again. The bathrooms were gross honestly. It’s small and crammed inside the store. As I’m trying to shop I can hear the manager harassing her own employees in the back. I don’t know who let that women manage a place of business but they should reconsider her role in the company. She was being disturbingly loud while there were customers in the store. Just not a pleasant place to stop...
