Cateechee Golf Club — Restaurant in Hartwell

I recently got married at Cateechee, and there aren’t enough words to describe what an absolute dream it was!! The facilities are absolutely gorgeous and the staff is amazing! I loved that Cateechee provided stylish tables, chairs, and linens for the wedding, and that we were able to utilize the indoor ballroom and outdoor veranda - it made for an absolutely beautiful wedding and a view of the sunset that evening. Liz, the event coordinator, was incredibly helpful, and made sure that everything ran as smoothly as possible! She worked amazingly well with all our vendors, provided a floorplan layout catered to our wedding and personal preferences, set up the projector for my maid of honor to play a video she made, and answered all of my MANY questions. Not to mention, she handled all of this during the middle of pandemic, and she made sure that I knew all our options and was willing to give suggestions on how to best handle everything in lieu of recent events. Liz was so friendly and helpful, and I couldn’t have had my wedding without her! In addition to Cateechee’s fantastic event planning services, we also worked with their lodging and catering staff. Cody with lodging was also so helpful, and he gave us a tour of all the lodging options so we could make our decision on where everyone would stay the night before the wedding. We decided on staying in the suites for the wedding weekend, and it was wonderful! The rooms were very clean and spacious, and we loved the breakfast platter that was brought to us in the morning, along with the coffee station and wet bar in the common area. It was so nice that there was a cozy common area between all the suites that was closed off from the rest of the building, because we were able to use this space for all the girls to get ready together, and it was perfect! Also, they have an amazing cancellation policy for anyone that wants to reserve their lodging spaces for weddings. Lastly, catering from Cateechee’s Waterfall Grill was, of course, amazing. They have so many options, from plated meals to buffets, passed hors d’oeuvres to filet mignon, and even the option of specialty stations - anything you could possibly want! We chose to have a few passed hors d’oeuvres for the cocktail hour, and for dinner, we had a plated meal that came with the entrée, a salad, vegetables of choices, starch of choice, yeast rolls, and drinks. The crab cakes and shrimp cocktails were an absolute hit, and all the food was so flavorful! The wait staff was very friendly and kept a constant flow of food coming for our guests. Cateechee was also kind enough to provide the bride and groom to-go plates, which we appreciated so much after the busy day! We also chose to have a cash bar, and it was a huge hit - everything was fantastic! I could go on and on about how great Cateechee was, and I wouldn’t have wanted to have our wedding be anywhere else! They really thought of everything, and they made everything so streamlined and easy for us in our planning. It was so nice that we were able to plan so much through Cateechee - since it was our venue, as well as our lodging, catering, and bar services, and they provided tables, chairs, linens, and, and all the items necessary for dining. Cateechee was, by far, our best investment for the wedding, and they are an absolute steal when considering everything you get for the price. I couldn’t have asked for a more beautiful venue, a kinder staff, and a more perfect wedding day! We are so grateful for Cateechee and their staff, and we are already looking forward to...

One-Star Review Easter Weekend Stay at Cateechee Golf Course – Disappointed and Concerned

I rented all four suites at the Cateechee Golf Course lodging for Easter weekend, and I have to say, the experience was incredibly disappointing.

From the very first night, things started going wrong. The entry doors didn’t work properly, and if one of our group hadn’t already been inside, we would’ve been completely locked out. None of the air conditioners worked across all four suites, and in 80-degree weather, that made for a very uncomfortable stay. To make matters worse, there was no maid service the entire weekend, no trash pickup, no fresh towels, and no linen changes.

Sleeping in those conditions caused health issues for family members with asthma and allergies. It was unacceptable to go the entire weekend without the most basic accommodations and care.

What made it even more frustrating was the complete lack of support. There were no after-hours staff, no posted emergency contact info, and the number we were given never got a response. I finally saw someone from the team on Sunday morning and reported everything. Later that evening, well after the report, a pro golfer (not a lodging or management staff member) stopped by, but no qualified team members ever followed up or made resolving the situation a priority.

After the trip, I tried reaching out, but no one would accept or return my calls. When I finally got a response, I was told it was my fault for not reporting the problems sooner, despite there being no available way to do so.

To be fair, the food and bar service were excellent. The meals were well-prepared and the staff in that area were friendly and attentive. Unfortunately, the lodging experience overshadowed everything else.

For the amount I paid, this experience deserves zero stars, but since one is the lowest option available, that’s what it gets. I strongly hope the facility puts proper staffing, emergency protocols, and guest support systems in place before booking...

We recently had the pleasure of celebrating my mother’s birthday at Cateechee Golf Course, and the experience surpassed every expectation.

From the moment we arrived, Kate and Tony went above and beyond to make her day truly special. The team greeted us with genuine smiles and took the time to learn a bit about Mom’s interests. We are truly grateful for the thoughtful touches that were arranged with care, all coordinated seamlessly by the staff.

Our servers were attentive without being intrusive, ensuring we had everything we needed. The entire team checked in at just the right moments, creating a relaxed, joyful atmosphere.

The course itself was pristine, the pace was perfect, and the scenic views created a peaceful backdrop for celebrating. Mom’s joy was infectious, and we could see how much the staff’s kindness meant to her—an experience she will remember for years to come.

We left feeling not just well cared for, but truly appreciated as guests. Cateechee Golf Course didn’t just deliver a great round of golf; they delivered a celebration that honored my mom in the most thoughtful way.

To anyone considering a special occasion at Cateechee, I cannot recommend them highly enough. The staff’s dedication, attention to detail, and genuine hospitality made my mother’s birthday unforgettable.
