3/2025 update. Went Friday night at 5:30 and was seated right away. Wait staff is always friendly and quick to serve. I had the biggest, best crab cake I have ever had. It was a special that night. Usually they are smaller than an english muffin. This one was hanging off the sides of the bread. Great flavor with just a little spice. Full crab flavor. Best I ever had. Hope to see it again on the menu. Would like to leave a new review each time we go but only allows me to update the last one. Food and service was good this time. To be fair we went on st. Patrick day and I think they were overwhelmed. Corned beef was very good but the cabbage was cold and the glazed carrots were not glazed. I ordered cauliflower but got mashed. They corrected the side. Still a solid choice. We come back every 3 months or so. It's a small-ish place, so waits are often required. Staff has always been friendly. Solid choice in the area.

The Edison Grill has been around for years, but I always seemed to drive by at the wrong time – either too early or after they were closed. Tonight everything lined up, and I finally stopped in for dinner. We got there just early enough to grab a table without a wait (there was a line by the time we left). Food was excellent all around. The crispy Brussels sprouts with a spicy Asian sauce and feta were incredible. My sweet potato fries, served with a drizzle on the side, were probably the best I’ve had – and I don’t usually even like sweet potato fries, but the waitress recommended them and she was 100% right. The sandwiches were spot-on, the tenders were crispy and flavorful, and the Key lime pie… well, my daughter said it’s worth stopping in just for that. She planned to take it home, but it didn’t make it out the door – gone before I could even snap a picture of more than the empty container.

Edison Grill is a nice little restaurant off RT-4 in Harwinton. The pretzel was warm and soft with two tasty sauces. My pasta salad w/chicken breast (add $4.75) was outstanding and plentiful. All the veggies were fresh. My wife didn’t like her grill salmon sandwich because it was too dry. They probably let it sit to long under the lamp. My grandson said his Mac & cheese was too cheesy and believe me, he’s an expert on the subject! My daughter liked her hamburger and sweet potato fries. Our vanilla cheesecake was not fresh unfortunately and must have been out left out most of the day (we got there two hours before closing). I will go again and my wife will give them another chance and order something different.

I’ll start with the good which isn’t much. The aesthetic and presentation/layout of the place is very cool and interesting. While I was there with the family I always could find things that were interesting and create a conversation. That’s as far as the good goes. The service was very lackluster to say the least. My first and LAST time being here. Apple juice was spilling from the bottom of my son’s juice cup, the server put the orange juice down and it spilled from how hard she put it down, pancake and potatoes that were ordered were super dry to The point where it was unbearable to eat without a beverage. The only reason why we came is because our original place was closed. On top of everything else the price does not match the quality. The reason why i am not giving this a 1 star is because I really want to give you guys a benefit of the doubt (maybe original chef wasn’t in the kitchen today) things like that and during our visit there were other families I could overhear saying first and last time visiting as well. If you know that you have a customer that is visiting for the first time, you should definitely try everything in your power to try to make that person become a recurring customer. I did not get that vibe...

Edison's confuses me. I have never encountered an eatery where the quality can be so inconsistent. We've eaten there in person many times pre COVID and done a fair amount of take out since last year. We love the burgers and usually both agree that Edison's has some of the best in the area. But when they're off, they're way off. We got takeout last night, one Classic burger and one Mushroom Horseradish burger. The Classic had bone and gristle in it. I'm assuming that means the meat is ground on site which is ideal if trimmed properly. The Mushroom burger had what seemed to be goat cheese as the basis for the sauce. That's a powerful overwhelming flavor that is definitely not universally loved. It should be mentioned in the menu. Unless there is no goat cheese in which case we have bigger problems. One takeout dinner recently came with dinner rolls. They were like rock. Someone had to know that when placing them with the dinner. We'll keep coming back because usually, the food is great. I just don't get the dramatic...

Amazing food - and the specials are always something truly unique! Every time I've been the restaurant seems fairly busy, yet I've never had to wait for a table. Great atmosphere and quick service. This morning was my third visit for breakfast and I was treated to the "Chicken and the Egg" special, everything I've ever hoped for in a breakfast. Fried chicken was crisp (even smothered in poached eggs and creamy sauce), juicy inside, and not greasy at all. I love that many of their menu options feature lots of vegetables, it helps to lighten up a deliciously rich meal. My one negative comment is that the breakfast potatoes were badly undercooked, dry, and needed salt. I can't recall if they were like that in the past, so it may have been a fluke, but I found them inedible. Thankfully there was more than enough food on my plate without them and I already resolved to substitute potatoes for toast next time, as their bread is freshly made in house and incredible! Looking forward to trying out lunch/dinner...
