Cousins Hide A Way — Restaurant in Haugen

So I've never been here before but my husband asked where I wanted to go out to eat tonight and my mom suggested it saying they had a really good salad bar. We get there and not only was the soup and salad bar that comes with most of the meals amazing (even had blueberries!), but I had a really hard time deciding on which of the awesome sounding Friday night specials I wanted! I came for steak and/or shrimp but they had cod also so my husband got the cod and shrimp special, so of course I'm eating some of his shrimp, eliminating the prawns from my list of choices. This left me with the grilled prime rib and ribeye and mushrooms specials and I love me some mushrooms so I chose the ribeye, requesting it temped medium rare, choice of potato (I did baked which came with butter and a generous helping of sour cream), and that amazing soup and salad bar! While the fish entrees we ordered were good, the rest of the experience left much to be desired. The server carried beer and wine glasses from the bar area to the dining room while holding the rim of the glass. Fish entree was served with a small, thin slice of lemon - no wedge. The place could really use a good cleaning. I realize that furniture is expensive but dining room chairs were very soiled and bar stool seats were ripped. The main disappointment was the front door said they accepted credit cards, but we found out when the check came that there was an additional charge for that. Maybe...

What a nice surprise in Haugen, Wisconsin. The place was super busy on a Friday night. But we were seated very quickly. I had the prime rib, my wife had cod fillet. Both were excellent and came to the table very quickly. The only negative was my wife's frys were a bit salty. The staff was very friendly and efficient. Our server was very attentive and apologized profusely when drinks were late in coming. It was no big deal, the food came sooner than expected and the bar was slammed with large groups.
