Fairway Grill — Restaurant in Hawaii

TWO STARS: Based on a two second interaction. We walked in at what must have been 5:20pm… they close at 6pm. There’s a couple people sitting waiting for their food. The hostess shouts toward us from across the dinning room ‘kitchen’s closed, sorry!’ So we walk out… I hope to amend this review one day.

THREE STARS: So came her again, gave it an additional star for the food! Very yummy and great prices. HOWEVER!!! we sat at the table for 30 minutes waiting for our water or waiter or anyone to notice we existed, until finally my husband had to ask ‘are we supposed to order at the counter or something?’ And then they were like ‘ohhh! No your waiter just arrived!’ So we say for a bit more than a half an hour and no one brought us water or anything, because our waiter didn’t start until 11…. I guess…. Hopefully things get better

UPDATE 4 STARS: tried it once more and the waitress Tina was amazing! She’s friendly and fun and fast. We WILL...

Poy Boy sandwich and Mahi Mahi sandwich were fantastic. Only downside was the mahi mahi sandwhich fell apart after putting it down. Note to self to leave the big toothpick IN!. Service is less then expected. Not bad, just not above what you'd expect from any random cheap place which this is not. The golf club must be a lower priced club. The steak bites are not what I expected. It's just a steak cut up and cooked with tons of onions and some mushrooms in a brown sauce. Flavor was good but very greasy.

No AC, just fans and open windows which wasn't bad, but I went in expecting air conditioning.

Couple of drunk golfers taking shots at the bar a few feet away and being quite loud made the 3 star atmosphere rating.

Overall I might go back just for the sandwhich or...

I've been dining out for 30+ years. For the first time I've learned that it is my job as a costumer to time the space between ordering the starter and the entree. Otherwise, as the server informed me, "If you order your appetizer at the same time as you order your entree, they will get punched into the computer at the same time and will come out at the same time." This left me confused because I ordered the appetizers right before the entrees and yet, the entrees came first and were immediately followed by the appetizers. Not sure why it says starters on the menu. I will keep this lesson in mind the next time I dine out, but it will definetly NEVER be at Fairway...
