Sunny Daze Sunshine Cafe — Restaurant in Hawesville

I purchased the breakfast bowl and coffee. The biscuits and hashbrowns were not completely cooked. The gravy was bland. The bacon, onion and greenpepper were crisp and held all the flavor. The egg had no seasoning. The coffee was terrible. It tasted over-roasted almost burnt, I added heavy whipping cream and it did not help. The staff were interesting dycodomy of style. One in all Amish attire and the other tattoed wearing a wife beater. They were business friendly. The menu is on the wall to the right of the counter...I asked and it was POINTED out, lol. Then a comment, "I don't know why people dont see it. The other one said, "me either." I said, I've never been here. The interior is spacious, clean and has local art for sale. Terrible experience here. My boyfriend and I wanted to try a new place in town to eat breakfast. Upon entering we were told to find any open seat. We sat ourselves in the back room at one of the only open tables that didn’t have dirty dishes on it. It was still dirty and never washed off after clearing from previous customers. We sat there for at least 15 minutes with a waitress ignoring our presence and proceeded to clear dishes off of another table. We patiently waited but when a large group of people proceeded to come in AFTER us already being there and were acknowledged first and served their drinks when we weren’t even noticed that was enough for us. We left and were disgusted by the service. In addition to poor service this place is dirty and cluttered with random items...

I went out to hawesville today to check out Butter & Kei's, Sonshine Cafe and it was absolutely AMAZING! The employees were super sweet and helpful. I got a gigantic iced coffee with brown sugar cinnamon and extra espresso that was better than my daily Starbucks and loaded avocado toast that was DELICIOUS! (Slightly spicy which I LOVED) After I ate and took a bunch of weird pictures I ordered muffins and cookies to take home along with a souvenir coffee mug. I HIGHLY recommend this super sweet cafe, it’s completely worth the drive if you don’t already live in the hawesville area. Check them out!! 🖤🖤 Can’t wait...
