I have been a customer for quite some time and love the place, love the servers, always have a good time. I am trying to keep my review in accordance with the guidelines as all that ended last Monday, 1/22/24. I tried to do this complaint in person and then via the phone but was not able to do so. So i, like i said, have been a customer for many years and have witnessed many loud groups of men and women over the years using colorful language and never have seen anyone from the restaurant/bar say one word to them about their behaviour-i mean it is a bar and people go to unwind. Well i guess this courtesy does not carry over when it comes to a woman, with her husband, I was there for lunch the other day and had gone because i was having a particularlily bad moment. Yes, i guess i may have thrown a few bad words around but let me say, whomever the woman was in the red hat whow stormed over to my table from the bar where she was working?? and treated me like a two year old who needed a time out is lucky i was not with my lawyer friend as this would have ended quite differently. I definitely was talking and saying naughty words louder than usual, there was NO ONE near us, a few people were at the bar and there are ways for hospitality professionals to speak with paying customers and not like i killed their dog or something. I would have apologized, probably would have bought a round of drinks for the bar patrons, but you have to learn that i am not a child and to be spoken to with such a condescending atitutde was completely unprofessional and quite frankly made here look like a child throwing a tantrum. In life it is not what you say but is how you say it and like i said, i TRIED to do this in person but i could not get the chance so here we are on social media. And if you want anyone to take you seriously, lose the beret. I would like an apology as i was singled out for absolutely no good reason and i am sure that if i were a man this would not...
Read moreOver the last 5 years I have tried to give this place chances. I have had my share of unpleasant experiences here and my share of pure relaxation. The food has always been superb. Sitting at the bar has always been a pleasure and that is what has kept me coming back, giving them another chance. When you give a coupon there is always stipulations. I have never had a problem redeeming them from here until recently. We came in with another couple who had a coupon and requested to sit together. When going to use the coupons we were told only 1 coupon per table. Nothing stated that on the coupon side of the post card but was posted in small print on the addressed side. Ok, it’s printed we accept, even though over the last 5 years we have used combining coupons at 1 table. The owner Mona wanted to know who the waitress was so she could fire them!!! Unbelievable! Tonight we go up with a couple who we were with us when we had gone for dinner before and each received a red envelope. We were given a 25 minute wait and replied we would wait at the bar. 1 hour later we notice tables opening up and knew we would be called for our table. Nope! When I ask the bartender if she could check on our status we are quickly seated. When we ask the waitress about the red envelope we were told again that only 1 envelope per table. It is not printed anywhere on the envelope or certificate. The owner Mona tells us that it is their policy to allow only 1 coupon per table and that it’s been a misprint for the last 7 years! Are you serious?!!! I can not let these experiences go unnoticed any longer. I have never ran into an owner of a business who would not try to be more accommodating when they know they are in the wrong. Mona was down right rude and standoffish. Our waitress never came back to our table so we finished our drinks and left. Will never go back and I’m spreading my experience to everyone I know and every...
Read moreWe decided to drive through Nockamixon Park on Memorial Day but because of progressive distancing, the park was full and closed before 2PM. We passed Becker's Corner on the way there. The building looked like an old church or schoolhouse with a small steeple/bell tower on the roof. Too bad I don’t know the building’s history but I’ll find out later when I return. We decided to stop for lunch on the way back. We looked at their menu on internet and placed an order by phone. The girl was very pleasant and friendly when we ordered and picked up our food. We ended up just eating in the car right in their parking lot. To-go only right now, of course. I got the crab cake sandwich. The brioche bun was toasted nicely on both sides. The crab cake was just about all crab and it was topped with melted Swiss, grilled tomatoes and sautéed spinach. It came with a side of tartar sauce and fresh cut French fries. It was very, very good! My wife got a chicken quesadilla, it came with a side of salsa and sour cream. It was very good too. It’s just too bad we couldn’t eat our lunch at the bar in peace with a beer or two. We live about 35 miles away but we are looking forward to coming back when everything is less progressive and sit at the bar, relax, and have some drinks and try more of their food. We'll be back! As I was posting this I just saw that they have outdoor seating now. ...
