Maria's Family Restaurant — Restaurant in Hayden

This place has got one of the biggest, best darn burros you'll ever see and taste! Also, from looking at the other reviews and pictures it appears that all the other meal portions are large and delicious as well!

I personally had the green chili beef burro one night, and the Maria breakfast burro this morning and they were both so tasty, full of awesome stuff and I feel so full!

Whether you are traveling from Phoenix to Hayden / Wilklemen on 177 or from Mammoth to Globe on 77, this restaurant is a must stop & try!

Aside from being one of the only Mexican restaurants in the county, and it being less than a 1/4 mile from the only place you can fill up gas for miles, it's just too good to pass up! So I 100% recommend that you fill up your tank, and tummy the same time!

I showed up real hungry and ordered the carne asada burro especial with rice and beans on the side and I was almost able to get it all down. Big portions and the food tastes just like you'd hope it would. The carne actually tasted like grilled steak.

A bit unpolished on the inside, which makes it perfect for me and people like me.

I would change nothing about this place.

If you respect yourself enough to prefer real food brought to you by real people, go see Maria. If you're a deep enough person that you're mindful about giving your business to people who earn it rather than gigantic corporations secretly cutting any corner possible in desparation to make a few bucks more for shareholders next quarter, go see Maria. Shame on anyone who'd pass this place by in favor of one of the mega chain fast food outlets---especially since Maria's prices compete directly with fast food offerings.

Food is good. Service needs some serious attention. Visited on a slow Sunday afternoon. Walked in and we were not acknowledged for 5 mins. Stood at the entrance and 3 girls were working. Not one of them said anything like, 'please seat yourselves, or we'll be right with you.' Had to finally asked how to be helped. Was told to have a seat. Then we waited some more. A couple came in after us, were immediately seated and offered chips n salsa, and their drink order taken. Are we invisible? Eventually, we were serviced. After the food was delivered, we never saw our waitress again. No drink refills, no hows your food? No Check. Walked up at the end, paid n left. Side note...12 bikers were also being serviced during our visit, overheard them asking where the waitress' were. After the 12 bikers left... the waitress had the audacity to say she only recieved a $10 tip. Gee I...
