Verona Italian Restaurant — Restaurant in Heber Springs

The server we had was very kind. No alcohol, not that its their fault. We ordered the fried calamari to start and the our entrees were Chicken Tuscany and Chicken Piccata. We received our salads before the appetizer as if it was policy to do so. It was a plate of bagged lettuce with 2 sliced cherry tomatoes. The calamari was served with no tentacles and the sauce seemed to be just a can of crushed tomatoes. The Chicken Tuscany looked like "the dogs dinner". The sauce seemed to be ladled on a pile of spaghetti in an unattractive manner. The chicken was frozen chicken tenders that had been grilled. The chicken Piccata was presented with to many capers and an off color sauce. The lemon butter sauce was not a bright vibrant color and barely had a hint of lemon. Chicken piccata should be served with hammered chicken breast that was been floured and pan fried. This chicken was the same frozen chicken tenders that were grilled as was in the chicken tuscany. Both dishes were tasteless and unattractive. We shared our dislike of our dishes and as if it was policy our server said we are welcome to speak to the owner about it. We were not offered an alternative. It seemed to be an aggressive response to our otherwise honest opinion of our meals. I wouldn't categorize this restaurant as "fine dining," but it was okay.

We arrive at linner time, around 4:00 p.m. When we arrived, everyone in the restaurant had received their meal. They were either still eating or preparing to leave.

Abby waited on us promptly and she was fantastic (5-star for her). She took our order and turned it in. She then brought out our drinks, bread and condiments. Three additional couples entered after we did.

After waiting a long time, I noticed the three couples who entered after us had already received their meal. One had completed their meal and was preparing to leave!

Finally, we received our meal and my husband's meal was wrong! Abby offered to take his meal back but after waiting so long, he didn't want to wait any longer.

My back was to the kitchen but honey said he could see Abby asking several times about our order. My husband got a little leery because he felt the cook was strangely watching us. He kept looking out the kitchen window at us.

While my food tasted good, honey's was so-so. Had I known my husband's uneasiness about the cook, I wouldn't have eaten it. But we didn't get sick and neither of us died, so I guess God was...

I would give them more points. They have horrible waitress there. Some of them looked friendly and we didn't have problem getting seated but after we got seated we basically got ignored. She only came to get are orders didn't know anything about the menu except for that it had to many options to tell us any details. She can and gave us are food seen that are drinks were empty. She did nothing about it after I waited 5 to 6 mins mind u she never noticed and my mouth was so dry from eating I finally gave up and went and asked someone else to get us some drinks.

When we got are food the food was amazing . I have nothing to complain about the food it was perfect. The reason I giving it a one start I should have to beg are waitress to come to the table I only got half way done with my meal till I was to mad to keep eating . Are waitress was talking and smiling to every other table but everytime she got to are she like skipped us . So we just paid for are in eaten meal and walked out .
