El Rio Lindo — Restaurant in Helena-West Helena

The food is okay, but not great. I ordered the Papa Rio which has a picture of steak and shrimp next to it with with a price of $10.99. Check the picture, I took. When the check arrived there was something for $19.99 listed. When I checked menu there wasn’t one thing listed at 19.99. So I asked the waitress (who was very nice - braces and a big smile) what the charge was for she made a face of embarrassment and said, “the steak and shrimp, it’s a different price now.” I said well you never mentioned the change. She said do you want to speak to the manager and I said yes. I asked the male manager how he could charge me $19.99 when the Papa Rio is $10.99. He said what I got was the steak and shrimp on another page. When I told him I point at the picture next to the Papa Rio he said that the pictures are at random and are not always associated with what is next to them. I asked him to show me what I was given. He points to Steak and Shrimp on another page, with a price tag of $17.99. I said okay well you still charged me more that that. At no point did he say apologize or attempt to give me the $2 price difference. Instead he said “was the food good? Bc that is what matters,” when I asked again about the difference in price he said things are expensive. I would not recommend this place to a soul. I have never had bad service until I brought my black fiance with me and all of a sudden I can barely get waited on! Mind you even though their previous hostess had informed me the owner had told her to wait on black people last I just couldn't believe she was telling me the truth. Mind you im white and have always had speedy service and they were always attentive and the food is good! However I will NEVER give them my money again. When I notified the manager how we were being treated his response was he trusts HIS PEOPLE! My question is who exactly was he referring to? Ive NEVER been so disgusted with an establishment in all my life I just wanted to order my food tip my waiter and go home but obviously that was too much to ask! Oh and the two WHITE men that were seated at the same time as us had received their ENTIRE meal and appetizers while we were still snacking on chips and salsa! PURE DISAPPOINTMENT! I've only ordered "togo" from here so I can't speak to a dine in experience. The girl at the counter that took my order seemed pretty nice. I didn't like that they didn't have any of those "paper take home menus so you can look at the menu and order from us later" things present at the time of my visit. My order was ready fairly quickly. I'd ordered a chimichanga meal and cheese dip and it came to around 15$ and change. (I think the prices are a bit lower at lunch.) The food was pretty good. I found it a bit strange and off putting that there was corn in the rice. The cheese dip was incredibly spicy though. I guess it varies from batch to batch as other people I asked felt it was generally not too spicy. One of my main complaints come from the ratio of cheese dip to chips.
