I have been craving the beef brisket from Center Point BBQ for some time now because it is delicious. I have been a big fan of this place and a patron of Center Point BBQ for years, I have recommended countless friends and family and had never had a bad experience, until today. Covid 19 has changed many things for many people, for restaurants I would imagine beyond staying afloat, the focus on safety and wellness of their customers is/should be paramount, I think customer service is in there somewhere too. I have been covid compliant for the duration, not only for my family but for the sake of anyone in my vicinity who may not be particularly interested in getting the virus. Today, I foolishly forgot my mask at home but had already made the trip and called in my order. I assessed the traffic going in and coming out. No one was masked, I entered with my shirt covering my mouth and nose as a creative attempt to shield others/myself from any possibilities, as half the staff was not wearing masks either. As I approached the counter to pay for my food, the delightful unmasked cashier broke the ice "did you fart or something?" I responded with my best courtesy laugh and presented him with my money in exchange for this simple brisket. The cashier then proceeded to ask "do you feel safe?" needless to say the playful banter that I entertained was now ascending into more than just a joke. I responded, "I forgot my mask and I dont want to put anyone at risk." as he condescendingly laughed in my face, another unmasked worker joined in as he was retrieving my food "pull your shirt down, you are making me nervous" to which I was so incredibly shocked I had no response. He continued to demand I pull my shirt down 4 or 5 times with accumulating exuberance, which caught the attention of everyone in the restaurant. I complied to his demands out of shock that Center Point BBQ would approve of a man to represent them with such bold arrogance and disrespect to the customer, and walked out with my food. I felt shamed by this establishment for my attempt at consideration/mandate. This encounter has removed any interest in ever returning to this otherwise lovely establishment. I hope they are able to regain a professional and caring demeanor for their customers as I am now staring at this prized beef with my appetite replaced...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI Was referred to Center Point BBQ from a friend since we were looking for bbq for our daughters birthday so I called a week ahead to place my order. I asked if I needed to place the order now or would they rather me just order the day of after I told him I would need to family packs to serve about 25 people. He said I could order the day of it would be quick since it wasnāt a lot(thank goodness I didnāt make that mistake) but said he could go ahead and take the order so I make the order over a phone call I can barley hear him because it sounds like he took it in the kitchen next to the sink so I yell my order back and forth finally we get it all down. Now mind you this is a week before I place this order knowing Iām gonna be on a time crunch coming from a work meeting in Nashville on Sunday to make it to my daughters party and long story short I get there at 12:57 when it was ready for. Once inside the lady asked what we needed once I told her it was a pre ordered pickup they acted like they couldnāt find ticket that was hanging right in front of them. After finding it the lady than had an attitude when I told her she read the incorrect order off to me but when she re read the paper it was on, it was exactly what I had just said. From there on out she had attitude and smart alike winks and smiles while I waited nearly 30 minutes while my family waited for food that they finally brought out and then forgot about the 3 gallons of sweet tea that we had to wait another 8-10 minutes for. That they made sure to take there time with after Iām sure they could see the frustration in my face. Mind you a to go order and Iām not one to brag this aināt what that is but I tipped $10 after seeing the confusion at first and still was treated like garbage. Will NOT recommend this place to anyone. Even with a WHOLE WEEK they couldnāt get it right. Spend your money where places who care need...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI called in for lunch for my office yesterday and ordered 3 loaded potatoes, 2 bbq sandwiches, 3 orders of white beans with cornbread, and an order of fried green tomatoes. The person who took the order said it would be ready in about 10 minutes and I could pick up. A team member waited 10 minutes before leaving the office (we are only about 5 minutes away) to go pick up. After arriving she was told the potatoes were not quite done yet. She waited about 30 minutes then called me to see if I wanted her to continue waiting or to cancel. I asked her to wait (I mean really how much longer could it take to bake a potato, right?). She waited another 20-30 minutes before they finally had our order ready. When she got back to the office and my other team members tried to eat their lunch, that we had already waited over an hour for, the potatoes were still not cooked. They were hard in the middle and ice cold. The sandwiches and beans were no longer hot. It was a horrible meal!! I called and spoke to the manager. He said he would buy lunch for us the next day to make up for the bad experience. I called today and spoke to him explaining who I was. He said since it was just the potatoes that were bad that I would have to pay for the remaining items that I had ordered. It didn't matter that we had also waited an hour for food that should have only taken 15 minutes to prepare and pick up. And the fact that the other items we had ordered were cold and soggy. I can honestly say I will NEVER return to Center Point Barbecue. In business you do what you say you are going to do and honor your word. At my place of employment when we have something go wrong with our customers we do whatever it takes to make things right for them to their satisfaction. I am very...
