This was my first visit to the Savory Grille. Three is us went to celebrate a friend's birthday. When placing our reservation, we were warming greeted. Upon arrival again, we were warmly greeted and escorted to our table by a window. Chris was our "caretaker" for dining experience. He knew just how much time to allow us to view the menu, ask questions, place our cocktail and dinner orders. He was warm and friendly, giving us time to enjoy each course. We were allowed time to enjoy each course. The food was absolutely wonderful! we decided to just do salad and dinner. The appetizer menu was creative with a twist. We asked Chris if the chef would allow us a side that actually came with one of the dinner choices. Black garlic and barley. We were graciously accommodated. It was a little smokey, subtlety garlicky, and thoroughly enjoyed by all 3 of us. I ordered veal medallions with spinach. The veal was tender and flavourful. My friends ordered the scallops, which were perfectly cooked, and a pork loin steak with parsnip puree and a wonderful slaw to balance the parsnips. I finished my plate!!! For desert, a homemade raspberry cake that was moist with the sweet-tart of the raspberry. I had a warm peach cobbler with ice cream, so comforting to my palette. My other friend ordered their version to a peanut butter Tandy cake. the peanut butter filling was so light and creamy. The coffee was perfect! The Chef owner stopped by to greet us, adding that much appreciated personal touch! We had what I can only say was a spa experience for our dining. We definitely will be returning to try other selections that caught our eye. Thank you,...

Conflicting views here. My experience was ~5 star. My wife tended more towards the 3.5 stars.

We had three appetizers:

  1. The pork belly and bean soup with poached eggs. This dish is EXTREMELY salty. Too salty. On its own this dish is really hard to eat and not very enjoyable unless you like very salty dishes. However...
  2. Baby carrots with honey ricotta. This appetizer is charming on its own. But when I combined the carrots with the pork belly and bean soup the end result was fantastic - the sweetness and mellowness of the carrots really brought down the saltiness of the soup and allowed me to properly enjoy the first appetizer.
  3. General Tso's veal. A great appetizer though a little on the sweet side for our taste. The coating remains crisp despite the dressing, and the tanginess of the soy sauce is well felt. Highly recommended.

For our main courses:

  1. I took the duck breast which is I highly recommend. Not too dry, not too moist, soft and not chewy. And the potatoes, rhubarb and leaks couple well with the meat and with each other.
  2. My wife took the shrimp and had a mixed experience. The shrimp itself is great - fresh, tasty, just the right amount of crispiness. But the grits... just a tasteless white mess with what I can only imagine is melted butter floating on top. The salsa was simply drowned by the grits and she quickly gave up on trying to comb through the...

This was our first and likely last visit here. I was excited to try this place based on reviews. The food was very good but not worth the price or the wait. While our server was very kind and courteous, they do not have enough staff to handle the crowd. We arrived with our party of 4 a few minutes before our 5:00 reservation and were seated promptly. There was a large group seated in the room just before us. Our drinks and bread were brought promptly but it fell apart from there. It took the waiter 38 min and being flagged down to take our order. Soup and salad didn't come until we had been there over an hour. After complaining to the waiter because we had theater tickets, our food arrived at our table 1 hour and 48 min after we were seated. The table of 2 next to us who arrive 5-10 min after us was served, ate, and ordered dessert before our entrees arrived. I think the food was good although we had to eat it so fast, I am not sure we got to taste it. No time for dessert or coffee and our table of 4 still walked out with a bill for over $300 with tip. Again, food was very good but not worth the trip at that price with inadequate service. It appears that other who rated this restaurant poorly, experienced a similar...

The staff and food here are top shelf. First visit here. Kind of confusing where you report for a table as there is a foyer and two doors. We choose the closest door to the parking lot and walked through the dining room almost into the kitchen. Where Chris greeted us. Chris loves his job, or at least gives that impression. He found us our table, and served us the rest of the evening. The menu is varied and gourmet level. Chris had his presentation down and was entertaining. All menu questions were answered throughly. Food was excellent we both had the chicken but we watched the other orders go by and all of them looked great. There are two small rooms with 4-5 tables spread out in each (an effect of COVID). The bar was small and seats 4 people. The unusual hit of the night was the sweet corn ice cream with cherry sauce. I like corn and I like ice cream would have never thought to put them together, but it worked. Food was great, service even better, we will be back.

My Savory Grill experience was good. They were happy to accommodate to my dietary needs. The appetizer and entree were decent, they weren’t as flavorful as I was hoping for. I got a butternut squash soup for my appetizer and it was good, but did not necessarily impress me. As for the main course, I got the General Tso’s Chicken and Shrimp (the shrimp was omitted due to my dietary restrictions). This was not as flavorful as I thought it would be at all. It felt very underwhelming. The chicken was very juicy and the perfect consistency, but the sauce was very bland for claiming to be General Tso’s. I was disappointed with this dish, especially for the price point. However, the dessert was incredible. I loved the creme brulee and especially loved the rice pudding. I highly recommend both of these! I would come back to Savory Grille for dessert.
