I arrived around 3:30 pm on Sat. July 4th with my girlfriend. The two of us were seated at the very far end of the building, close to the bathrooms, where no staff was able to see us very well due to a partition/the back of my seat blocking their view of us. We waited for almost 8 minutes and was just about to leave when the waitress came to take our drink order (on hindsight we should have just left.) Upon asking us what we would like to drink, I informed the waitress that I wasn't sure as we did not have a drink menu. She then pointed out the flyer on the table that had a QR barcode and told us to scan that for a list of the beers. As I don't have a QR app on my phone I couldn't do that, but luckily for us we had plenty of time before our waitress came to take our initial drink order and I had opened up the menu on my phone to see what beers were possibly available. I ordered the toasted beer, but was asked by the waitress to select another just in case it was not available (which it wasn't and I received my 2nd option.) We then proceeded to order. My girlfriend ordered the Lone Star nachos, and asked for no sour cream. I ordered the boneless wings with sriracha bourbon sause, as the description said it was spicy. Half a glass of beer later the food was delivered by another server, who said that they would get us some plates, but never returned. The nachos were the saddest looking nachos I have ever seen. For starters, they were burnt, missing the green onions, and covered in sour cream (plus the toppings were very scarce.) As for my spicy chicken wings, you could barely even feel a burn. They were so un-spicy my girlfriend didn't even notice the heat. After receiving our food we sat once again waiting for our plates. When the server did not return I stood up and waved to the group of employees standing by the front door until one of them acknowledged me and came over to the table. I proceeded to inform him that the nachos had been ordered without sour cream but came with it anyway, and that it was also missing the green onions. He did offer to have it re-made but my girlfriend said not to bother doing so. As for the lack of onions, he said that was due to Covid-19 (which is weird because I was just at Cancun in Reedsburg the night before and had onions in my food.) I also mentioned that the server never came back with plates. He informed us that one employee had not shown up today and that the manager was helping out. He said he would get some plates for us and asked if we needed anything else. I informed him we also needed napkins and silverware , which he promptly got for us. Unfortunately, that was the last time anyone came to check on us (and that wouldn't have happened had I not gotten up to wave someone down!) After finishing our 1 glass of beer each (at a brewery mind you)I went up to the front to pay as no one came back to give us a bill. We've been to the brewery about 4 times since they opened the new building, and I can't say that the past experiences were that much better. It is sad to say that this will probably be our last time there. Oh, and one last thing. As we arrived about 1/2 hour before 4:00, and it took another 8 minutes before someone came to serve us, I noticed on the online menu that bbq ribs were being served for the 4th of July, but that they wouldn't start being served until 4:00. It would have been nice to have been informed about it from the staff since it was so close to 4. Also had I not looked at the online menu I wouldn't have known about it at all. But then again, maybe I saved ourselves from more...
Read moreYesterday afternoon 12/19/2024 myself and my child were craving pizza and wings. I've never been here, so I figured I'd give it a shot. At 12:15 I tried to call to order food. The phone rang until it went to "voice mail." I then double-checked on Google, and it said it was open. I figured it was busy, so I waited for a minute or so and called back. Immediately upon calling, the call was rejected. I waited and called a third time to no surprise that my call yet again was rejected. Finally, I got in my car and drove down. When I walked into HBC, to my surprise, there were ZERO patrons inside. The only thing I saw was a couple of young teens standing around. As i approached, the dude standing there i asked if he heard the phone ring and if they even wanted my business/money. He seemed like it was an inconvenience and annoyed and ignored the question of hearing a phone ring "Should of just walked out and went elsewhere at that point." However i was dertimed to give them a chance and ordered a pepperoni pizza and wings. I left a tip regardless of the poor customer service. Drove home and me and my child both tried some of the food that was not very good. Pizza wasn't fully cooked and the wings had been overcooked and chewy. Overall if these are the kind of people they hire here with zero work ethic and bad cooking/customer service skills I don't think I'm gonna waist another 35-40 bucks for food that was worse quality then fast food. I'm not impressed in the slightest. Iv had better take out pizza at kwik trip. Will not be...
Read moreWatch out for the manager if you go.
I was at Hillsboro Brewing Co Saturday night with a large group of people. When we travel in this large of a group we are very patient about getting our meals. And this time was no exception.
I'll start off by saying that the food was actually very good (although a bit overpriced) and the staff that worked with us (Tiffany and Kelsey I believe) did an amazing job. All of us got everything we wanted and in a pretty timely manner. For the most part we had an enjoyable visit...but now for the reason this review cannot be above a 3.
Before any of us even sat down the manager came over and immediately started telling us our group was too big and that they only made an exception about seating a group this big because we "agreed" to only order pizzas. First -- when we made the reservation she did ask us to only order pizzas but we didn't agree to anything. Second -- she said we needed to order pizzas because if we all ordered burgers it would take over 90 mins and would bog down their kitchen. Ok...even if that is true...that wasn't the main problem...the main problem was her super condescending and negative attitude. She immedateily starting sighing and whining when we asked if we could order what we wanted to as long as we were ok waiting for it. The manager needs to have more faith in her kitchen and wait staff and to have a much better attitude toward paying customers.
This place is super cute, has a great beer selection and pretty good food...but it needs a...
