Ok so I am not sure where to start here. First of all, I want to say, believe the negative reviews, regardless of what the owners or managers come on to say to save face about their restaurant. My family and I have been coming to this restaurant for over 40 years, we have a summer home here and always looked forward to going to our favorite place, High Knob. We would always get two large white pizzas and 2 dozen chicken wings that would be LOADED in sauce. Their Long Island iced teas were the best and I would always compare theirs to others and there was no comparison. With that being said, we decided to go last night. We were so heartbroken and disappointed. The place has new owners and they try to push their specials on you. We just wanted our usual and we couldn’t even get that. The young waitress was very nice but what confused us all, was that when we ordered our pizza, she said that they were out of pizzas, on a Saturday night??? We tried ordering other food but after the third time of being told that they were out of things, we became extremely frustrated. This place was known for its excellent pizza! What we got was a weird flat bread pizza, not even a full one, a half of one, and a small white pizza. My Long Island iced tea was subpar at best because they got rid of all their long time wait staff including the bartender. We looked forward to seeing our friends there and so did my daughter. The chicken wings were dry and barely had any sauce. I will include a picture lol. All I asked for was for more sauce, before we knew it, our waitress disappeared and we were confronted by angry Karen restaurant owner. She was rude, unprofessional, scared my daughter and basically saying we were wrong as customers when I explained that we were not happy with the food. She attempted to take back the wings that my daughter was actually eating and I said please just leave them. Now, she did then bring out a dozen of wings for us but gave us our check and told us to “see ourselves out” when we were finished. Then she had a gentleman ( maybe the other owner) check up on us to make sure we were leaving. He was actually nice. We did end up leaving and will never go back as long as that owner owns it. They would probably not let us back in anyways, but word of mouth travels fast and we do know a lot of people here. We will def be sure to tell them of our experience. We have no problem going else where. It’s just sad and disheartening to see a place that you hold so dearly in your heart be dissected and destroyed. The photo that I included, were the wings we were served. Barely any sauce. All we wanted was extra sauce 🤦♀️🤷♀️
Edit:
You’re very welcome, Karen. We were not being rude in any way. I guess if a customer complains about anything that’s a crime. Stop treating your customers like they are kids, and make sure you have enough supplies to make your customers happy. Guess constructive criticism isn’t in your vocabulary. Good luck on your business with that attitude . Your comments are being read by future...
Read moreHi friends! Just like to give my input as an employee of the knob for the past 14 years! If you don't know my name, I'm Ash or Ashley long time bartender/waitress here! I have not left ever in the span of these 14 years, so I get confused when I see negative posts about drinks not being the way they used to, etc... or hey! Ash is back. Ash never left. And Ash isn't going anywhere so. If you complain about drinks, come see me. I'll fix it all day, to make sure you have a great experience. If you want to just be negative for the sake of being negative, I can't help you with that. What I can do is make sure your food is yummy (as long as you let me know at the time that there is an issue) and your drinks are delicious and delivered in a timely fashion. Oh I might make you laugh a time or two. So these comments where the long time bartender is gone are untrue. I make long Island iced teas the same everyday! (vodka, gin, rum, tequila, triple sec, splash of sour mix and pepsi) like I do every other time. I guess I should apologize for dying my hair so frequently... no one can remember me lol the point of all this....is of you don't like change, I'm sorry. Changes are hard, but the new owners have worked very hard to make sure this place is tip top in every way that they can. Between new foods and entertainment as well as keeping the old favorites, we try and keep it interesting. So I hope that tops all the negative things that have been directed this way. Because half of it isn't even true! Spoken from the *long time bartender who never...
Read moreWe called ahead because we had a group of 11 and well we wanted to make sure they werent taken by surprise and that they were ready for us, well they were not. First we pull up to what almost looks like a house in the deep woods, you have to travel dirt roads and a scary bridge to get there, but that was the fun part, then when we got in, no one acknowledged the 11 people standing in the middle of the room, so we had seen an older woman sitting at a table with paperwork and asked her, she said she knew we called and called a waitress over who made it very very obvious that she was not happy about us being there. she reluctantly cleared a table, and then under her breath said yea there's your table. I was the only one who heard her, but at this point we were thinking we should go some where else. half our party was outside cause the temp in the place was extremely hot. guess thats how they keep you drinking. when we did finally get seated we had a very nice woman as a waitress. The wait took forever though and the food was ok. My sister loved her open faced roast beef but my daughter wouldn't eat her burger cause it just didn't look right she said. i had a Chicken ceaser salad, which she brought me a side salad first but i can handle a mix up. no biggie. point is, do we think we will go back, absolutely not and you can thank that waitress who cleared our table with such an attitude that made us feel like we had some nerve showing up there. my kids said they felt like they were at a house party that no one invited us too and everyone...
