I got the scallops special and a bread basket to go with it I. Called ahead and the food was ready when I arrived. It was warm and ready to eat when I got home. The meal was incredible. The sauce added so much flavor to the scallops and angel hair pasta. The sun dried tomatoes added a tangy surprise. The bread basket had several kinds of rolls that were fresh and warm. It was a great meal. We’re so fortunate to have a restaurant like a maples in our neighborhood. The view overlooking the huge lake on the golf course is beautiful, too.

Good first visit. Blackened chicken Alfredo hit the spot. Good Portion and good flavor, chicken was tender and done right. Location was hard to spot as the restaurant is a part of The Old Mill Golf Course. Second night’s dinner - Pimento Cheese Burger with upgrade of onion rings. Great Suggestion by the bar tender, I forgot to ask for his name.

I made reservations for my husband's birthday. I called more than once to verify because the person answering the phone did not inspire confidence. I was told that I was on the list. When we arrived at 5:30 the doors were locked with a handwritten sign "we cannot take walkins tonight." We had reservations so we continued around the building looking for a way in. We found a side door and went to look for the host stand. We said we had reservations at 5:30. We were told that they needed to find the list they didn't think we were on it. That employee disappeared and another came around the corner and grabbed the handwritten list with five names on it. We were not on the list. I told him I called 3 times. He huffed and puffed and shook his head and the held his head in his hands. He told the other person with him to go see if Brandon could take us. He huffed and puffed some more. So I told him we would go somewhere else (meaning we had to travel over a half hour to get anywhere else). Our patentd hsd already driven an hour and a half to meet us here for dinner. I told him he was rude and the place lacked organization. He said "good. See ya."

Note: We ended up in Floyd at Parkway Grill. It was one of the best meals we ever had. It...

My family made a reservation for a wedding party made a month in advance and when we arrived had to ask them to move tables so we could sit together and not spread across the resturant on 4 tops. Then were told with a very angry tone that they only had one cook that night. Which is poor management to not look at the schedule nor plan for a Friday night. Multiple other tables including a party of atleast 12 got their food an hour before us even though they had been seated about 20 Mins after our party had all arrived. The only saving grace was the bartender and the one server we had who, with no help from anyone else, served all 20 of us... only for the other old waitress (who should either retire or remember not be blatant about her dislike of customers) to pass out to go boxes less than 5 mins after our food arrived as they were closing. We arrived at 6:30 and only expected to be there till 9 at the latest to do other things for the wedding anyway. But there's really no excuse for the obvious isms that happened in that restaurant. And to be an attempted fine dining restaurant the liquor selection was pitiful. This is said as no slight to the bartender as he was really nice and...

I can remember this restaurant being one of the top five restaurants in the area, that is no longer true. Took my family of seven for Mothers Day dinner, should have been a clue to me that something was wrong when the place was empty at 6:00pm on Mothers Day. The food was so bad that I asked if Chef Ed Badgett III was still the chef here? And was told by our waitress that he was no longer at Maples, but that they had "good chefs". She never asked me why I asked or if there was a problem , but I can assure you they do not have anyone that should call themselves a chef. I have never written a review for a restaurant, but it was that bad. Everything was frozen: shrimp and grits could've been Lean Cuisine, chicken tenders and potato chips looked like prison food, meatballs were nearly meatless, fries were crinkle cuts from a bag. The entire meal could have come from the freezer section at a grocery store. Really shocking for a white table...
