Ā Ā Ā Read moreWe have been going here since they opened. Recently the owners opened another store and ever since the lack of ownership supervision on site has lead to a lot of inconsistencies. The ice cream is greatā¦itās quality ice cream. They also do offer a wide variety but the ācommonā flavors they list on their site as regulars are not regular at all and vary. I have driven 20+ mins to go there, because the ice cream is really that good, only to be disappointed time and time again that my āregularā flavor is not offered that night. I have been told I can always call first but when you do they either donāt answer or make you feel as though you are interrupting their night by calling. The very young staff there (often just 2 high school aged girls) are usually very nice but portions are extremely inconsistent. Not quite Chipotle level but close. The image below is what I got when I purchased an $18 quart. When I got home I pushed the ice cream down and it barely was half the container. For $18?!?! As much as I love the ice cream I just donāt think I can support this store any more.
You will likely enjoy your dessert when you go your first time. If you go back for a second trip or more though donāt expect the same experience as...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI live near Ow Wow Creamery in Chalfont. It's been awhile since we went there but we went last weekend and the ice cream was so tasteless and watery, we ended up throwing it away! I am NOT ONE TO WASTE MONEY (esp in this economy!). We went as part of a celebration, and so I was bummed that it really wasn't a celebration and remembered Hickory Stick! I'd stopped by after passing it a few times for work last year and remembered the ice cream as being excellent (as had Ow Wow when it first opened). So, we immediately drove to Hickory Stick wondering how it compared and hoping it would be better than the ice cream we literally wasted over 20 bucks on (for two people!). Well, not only was it FANTASTIC, it was less expensive. It was so creamy. So flavorful and fun flavors! I had a cherry vanilla and banana pudding and my daughter had cookie monster. I loved they were playing Country Music! The service was great. The only challenge is the small parking lot - however, the ice cream and service totally cancels out the challenge of the small parking lot. HIGHLY...
