The service was honestly well above expectations! The Tour of the River, (my dinner choice) at 40.00 per plate may have been under priced based on my experience with various restraunts, and comparing serving size and tastes vs. price. You can choose between either flounder or there catch of the day as the main course, which was ''Wreck Fish'' this day (but it often changes as everything is fresh caught every single day). WITHOUT ANY EXAGGERATION, My meal could have fed 3 persons easily!! Also, you get a very harty main course, with the Wreck Filet around (if not more than)10 ounces after pan fried preparation. Note the Fish sells off the dock for about 20.00 per pound unprepared, and before market price mark ups. In addition, I received a generous portion of calamari, muscles, two variants of local wild caught shrimp, hush puppies, amazing potatoe wedge fries, and coleslaw. A very easy 5 out of 5 Stars from our party!! Word of Caution however, their menu is obviously seafood/surf oriented!! They have limited entrees outside of Seafood and Fish. Nonetheless, they do have some options though, as my son and daughter had chicken wings, which were also near perfection. They also had live entertainment, which Im not too sure is occasional or a nightly event. In addition to all this, they have a nice bar, indoor riverside sunroom seating and we was lucky enough to see two dolphins jumping and swimming during high tide shift in the river, and at different times. You would be hurting yourself if you didn't at least check out their website or stop in if your passing by. The place isn't too far off of "I 95".....maybe 10 to 15 minutes max....the most memorable of this place (outside of the great food) is the gritty, rough cut look and old-time feel of the entire restaurant. Very clean in addition to everything mentioned above.....I could go on and on, but really.....do yourself a favor and write this onto your bucket list during your east coast travels!! You won't...
Β Β Β Read moreAfter 7 or 8 previous AMAZING meals we returned for Father's Day. We live in Pooler and donβt mind driving an hour or so for great, delicious, reasonable priced seafood. Thatβs something we always got when we went to your restaurant. But this last Sunday was probably one of the worst meals that I've had in my 73 years. I ordered Wreck fish, with a baked potato, and collards, and a cup of crab stew. My wife ordered salad, with a piece of wreck fish on top. The SAME two things we've always ordered. Our waitress who served us has to be the worst we've ever experienced at Fish Dock. Our drinks sat at the bar while we waited and waited, while she was shooting the breeze with other waitstaff. She came back and informed me that there were no baked potatoes. Who runs out of baked potatoes on a Sunday, especially Father's Day Sunday? I opted for French fries. When our meals arrived, our mouths dropped!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! My collards were cold, and half filled, I had about 15 cold French fries, and a 2" by 4" piece of Wreck fish, mind you for $29!!!!!! My wife's wreck fish couldn't be cut with a regular knife, maybe a sharp steak knife!!!!! We told the waitress that we weren't happy, and she sent your manager over. She looked and said we'll send out a new plate. 20 minutes later another slightly larger piece of just fish came out, NOTHING WLSD!!!!. So what sat in front of me for over 20 minutes was even colder than when it was first served!!!!! Never touched anything new or old!!!!!! It was a disgrace to charge $29 for what I got and to know what I'd gotten just Mother's Day when I brought my wife here. Your manager removed my meal and my wife's fish from the bill. We will not be back!!!!!! I do have a picture of my meal but thereβs no where to...
Β Β Β Read moreWe were excited to try this restaurant. They stated, by the water, but we were still indoors with dirty glass windows. So, no breeze and the view was blocked by the frame of the window. We moved the table ourselves to get a small glimpse of water. The view was of boats at a dock with lots of what looked like swampy waters not far from dock. My husband ordered a Pina colada and I asked for a bottle of beer with a glass. It took quite a while for the drinks(ver slow time of day for them, 5pm) when we finally got our drinks, the colada was not in the correct glass. ( It was smaller) the glass for my beer looked like they tried to freeze it real fast while we waited. Definitely not a frozen mug. We ordered hush puppies. I took one bite and sent them back. They were barely warm and gooey in the middle with no crunch. My husband got crab cakes with fries and coleslaw. He said it was ok but not hot and lacked flavor. I got shrimp ( half fried, half grilled) with fries and broccoli. Nothing was hot. The grilled shrimp was tossed on top of the fried shrimp. I immediately separated the 2 but the fried was already soggy from the grilled. I ate one grilled only. Nasty. I ate the fried bc I was hungry. They were edible. The fries were the best part of the dinner but would have been better if they were hot. The broccoli tasted like the steamed broccoli I make at home from a bag. So it was fine but cold. The waitress was fine but the only thing she did for us was get our drinks and bring our bill. When she told us she took the hush puppies off the bill she said it like she was doing us a huge favor. It was quite odd. We definitely will not be going back there ever again. Not worth the hour...
