Bacon Me Crazy — Restaurant in Hinsdale

I was warned and should have listened! I went with my kids and the first sign to run should have been our feet sticking to the floor 🤢..but they were hungry as we drove quite a way to try this place out. We sat at the counter and the waitress was really nice. My.daughter ordered the stuffed french toast, I ordered a well done burger with cheddar and my son ordered a pancake...after 25 minutes the kids food finally came out. The cream cheese "filling" that was in the French toast was crumbly and tasted like paste..it also had an orange hue to it..weird. she ate 3 bites and gave up...15 minutes AFTER my kids meals came out my burger arrived. I cut into it on a hunch and it was completely cold and raw in the middle with a cold slice of American cheese thrown on top. Also, this place is crazy overpriced for what you get...DONT waste...

We're from out of state, so while traveling through their quaint little towns we googled the closest place to stop for breakfast and happened upon "Bacon me Crazy". The waitress with black ponytail was a gem! She was courteous, friendly and attentive. Unfortunately the rest of our experience was a bust. The food took forever and as Gordon Ramsay would say "it died at the pass". It was cold, hard and dry. We initially joked that they must be slaughtering the pig... not so funny when we received the food or the bill. Aesthetically the food looked like it was once good, but letting it sit for so long really affected the texture and flavor. I still gave them 3 stars because the server was great! I'd probably give them another chance, maybe their regular cook...

Aside from the stares since I was from out of town and I'm guessing all the locals probably know who frequent that restaurant the food and the hospitality are the two things that will keep me coming back. Only a king could ever hope to get the kind of generous portions they put on my plate. My omelette covered half of my 10 inch plate. And the maple brown sugar coated bacon had my eyes and mouth watering.

If you haven't gone you owe it to yourself. Best breakfast I've had in a long time. Almost forget to mention the cream cheese stuffed, berry topped French Toast; so good it feels like you got away...
