Saturday around 1am, 7/30/25, I invited a friend and my son for a good time. I opened a tap and ordered a beer for myself and my son. He put $20 in the jukebox. Thirty minutes in there, I went to the restroom while my son ordered another drink, The female bartender whose name she would not disclose - wore green camouflage shirt, black leggings, long-brown ponytail with square pendant necklace refused to serve my son. She said she remembered him from last time and was upset because he left her a $5 tip and I also left her a $5 tip. Our total experience was close to $100. Maybe she expected more.
We think that we were poorly cut off before last call was announced. She said she remembered us from the last time we were there and said we are poor tippers and refused to serve us while other patrons were served generously! With that being said I left no tip at all. I will not be back or will I recommend my many friends and family to try visit the establishment while she is working there! I have however been there several times and was always treated very well with other bartenders. Perhaps the owners should look into their employees list to find out who it is that is ruining their business with such a nasty attitude and large tip-minded employees! I do understand they work for tips and we do tip but she thinks a $5 tip is not enough!
Ms. disgruntled bartender, maybe you should evaluate your professionalism when serving customers. You would then get generously compensated. Please reconsider this rude mistreatment that you currently...
Read moreThis place is a hidden treasure - Although I've driven close to The Hitchcock Post many hundreds of times, I had no idea that it even existed until a couple of nights ago when a friend who is familiar with the establishment took me there.
Arriving close to midnight, the bar was busy but not too crowded and we managed to find a vacant table almost immediately. Someone arrived very quickly at our table to take our drink orders and she came across as being very polite, friendly and knowledgeable about what drinks were available. After taking our order it only took a couple of minutes before she returned to the table with our drinks.
There was a mixed bag of patrons in the bar ranging in age from around the mid 20s all the way up to people in their 60s. It was definitely a friendly crowd, split roughly equally between male & female and I would say that the majority of people were well-dressed in going out attire which thankfully wasn't too formal.
The juke box was loud enough to be heard but at the same time wasn't overpowering, and the restroom was very clean and well maintained.
This is definitely a place that I'll be returning to now that I've found it. I'm not sure if food is served there, but if it is then I'll definitely be making my next visit around dinner time.
All in all, having a drink at The Hitchcock Post was a perfect way to finish off a long...
Read moreThe good news is that someone who has DEEP pockets owns this place because they aren't worried about making money. I walked in, walked up to a dart board which was unoccupied, put my money in, and was then informed that was the "practice" board for the dart tournament.......at 11pm....on a Friday. Like I said, must be rich cuz they don't need my money. I guess I should end this by telling you about the good parts about...
