Amato's Xpress — Restaurant in Holden

2 out of 3 of the sandwiches we ordered were made INCORRECTLY. To begin with, yes it may have been 730 and I'm sure the store closed at 8, so the little boys working probably wanted to close up shop and scurry home, but come on. When someone orders a "Ham and cheese only" for the "little I have with me," (my son is 4.5) why would you LOAD it with tomatoes, ONIONS (omg) and, yes GASP, BLACK OLIVES?! It was a good thing we were "eating on the run" and my husband could hide in the front seat dissecting the sandwich so it didn't go to waste. Now, on to sandwich error number 2, MINE. A simple and VERY easy to make, Ham Provolone cheese, Pickles, Oil and LIGHT pepper ( that meant BLACK SHAKER PEPPER.) Typically I'm okay with flinging things off and going about my business, but in the case I also had to CHOKE down the dry bread and then, THEN.... it happened, every onion haters worst nightmare.... I bit into a ONION. It was all over from there. I had to throw out my sandwich because who knows if there more of the hidden little suckers in there?! This was a less than pleasurable experience and I WILL NOT be visiting your establishment anytime soon, or ever I'm betting. Last, but CERTAINLY not least, the young lady working the register couldn't understand what was written on the slip so she was confused as to what to charge us for. Now, I believe we may have actually been over charged because we ORDERED SIMPLE sandwiches and were CHARGED for LOADED ones we DID NOT want. In case I haven't been clear in my rant I just want to reiterate how displeased I am with the service and quality of food we received. I WILL not recommend this...

My wife and I just moved here. We do not live close to any kind of services. We stopped here to try the sandwiches. We both ordered 2 custom made sandwiches. After about 15 minutes the kid behind the counter tells us our order is ready and hands us a bag with 2 sandwiches in it. We drive home and sit down for our meal. Both sandwiches were exactly the same and both were not the sandwiches we had ordered. Not wanting to drive another half hour and reorder the correct sandwiches, we chose to eat what was given to us. When your manager says it’s needed to wash a clean dish and then says we just lost a good employee there because they didn’t want to wash it… well that’s not a good employee! Then says to all the staff we don’t need to wash that certain dish if it hits the floor. Well that’s bs… wash it. Don’t eat here ,things behind the seen such as someone double dipping there tender in the same sauce that the public eats from… yeah that’s a problem. Take a good look… it needs deep cleaning.
