So I love casa de fruta.. but I was VERY disappointed with an experience I had with one of the employees that was working there yesterday. It was halloween so my boyfriend and I thought it would be nice to stop by casa de wine & deli because we were considering wine tasting. While I was waiting for him to come out of the bathroom, the older Caucasian man giving a wine tasting to 2 other customers started to mock me because I was wearing a mask. I understand we all have different points of views regarding masks but that was so rude and completely turned me off from getting a wine tasting. I'm sure he thought I didn't hear but I did. I wasn't bothering anyone and was very disappointed. My boyfriend and I decided to just leave at that point.
EDIT: the owner reached out to me & handled the situation very well! Will definitely be returning to casa de fruta in...
Read moreHubby and I stopped here for lunch on the way to drop a load in washington. There is parking for trailer trucks here. If you have a dog, keep them on a leash because the peacocks roam at will. There is a diner, a fruit market, a deli and winerey, an ice cream/coffee place, a carousel, a kids park, a little fountain pond, a train ride, and i think an inn. The whole place has a country, cottagey feel to it which I love. The decor has wooden carts, old trucks, like a barn vibe. The staff at the diner were friendly, courteous. The fruit market sells dried and fresh fruits, nuts, choco, popcorn, bottled jams and condiments...loved it. The diner allows dogs on the patio seating only. They are not allowed at the market, ice cream place, and winery, unless they are service dogs. Glad we made...
Read moreGreat place to find wine and other local snacks. Employees were welcoming, nice and helpful. There are many wine selections that will satisfy your wine cravings. You can also "test" the wine for a certain cost. We skipped the wine tasting and the sandwiches but it was great to see a variety of locally made snacks and other food items. take your time to go through the entire store as there are a lot of snacks, gifts, souvenirs and more to purchase. It was an interesting place and the wine smelled quite fine as well. Parking is quite easy and the ice cream shop is just a few steps away. Would recommend coming here if you're passing through. It's an awesome place to...
