Waves Shave Ice — Restaurant in Holly Springs

I really wanted to like this place but it fell flat unfortunately. I was excited for a place that had “authentic” Hawaiian shave ice including ice cream.

My biggest complaint was it was $4.50 to add ice cream to your cup, which seemed kind of crazy but I got it anyway. They literally only gave us 1/4 cup of ice cream in our bowls. $4.50 for a tiny amount. It was almost $20 for my husband and I to get a small shave ice each and add ice cream. Never have seen such a masterful piece of artwork all in a dessert! The owner is so amazingly friendly and came out to speak with us all and made us all feel so welcomed, and like she was grateful to make each one of our personally and it was her honor! You don’t find places like this anymore, and if you’re ever in the area, you must get by one of their locations. You will never experience something so amazing! Our family stopped by and not only were our shave ices phenomenal, every single employee there was welcoming, helpful and so personable.

If you haven’t had Shave Ice before, this is the place to try it. It’s NOT a snow cone or an icee. Their fresh fruit/housemade syrups are a must try!
