Friendly, family-owned lake-front restaurant with a simple menu - steak or fish - and a breathtaking view of Lake Claiborne. You can’t go wrong with either choice on the menu! Drinks are served in big 32oz ā€œbubbaā€ cups. Homemade bean soup, coleslaw, hush puppies, and mouthwatering pickles are served to everyone family-style. Food is delicious! Service is some of the friendliest around! And don’t forget to order a slice of pie or cake for dessert….it’ll change your life!😊

We were treated horrible at Port Au Prince restaurant in Homer, LA tonight.Ā  Watching several tables come after us, eat all they wanted & leave before we saw the first piece of fish. After waiting 1hr & 15 minutes for our food. Then 15 more minutes for it to be enough fish on the table. Never asked if we wanted refills on our drink. We had separated tickets. At least 15 adults all you can eat fish & 1 steak dinner. Every ticket had a 20% gratuity added. When we stated at the register, we did not agree, because of poor service and the fish was not season as well as it was too soft.Ā  We were told, by (the manger tonight) " I'm tired of your kind, you ain't getting no discount, pay your ticket, get out & don't come back!" I asked what kind sir, the kind that had to wait over & hour for their food?... Another person, said they have been there regularly every weekend and has never been treated like this. They was told, by (the manger tonight) I don't care pay & don't come back.

People that where in the back still dining heard him as he screamed this while waving his hands. ... Port Au Prince motto: "I'm tired of your kind!ā™ āœ” Get out & Don't...

Won’t be returning. My family and I have been going to Port Au Prince over the years and has never had an issue. However our last experience was a bitter sweet one. The food was ok, when we tried to get a second order of fish it came rather slow, ok no problem, what I’m not happy with is the fact we never saw our ticket until it was time to pay, therefore we couldn’t verify charges, our waiter said he left ours up front with the cashier šŸ¤” so when we went to pay the bill, they hit us with 156$ bill and we couldn’t verify if it was correct so I have to ask what was the charges why others were waiting to check out (embarrassing) so turns out they added a $20+ gratuity to our bill which I was never able to confirm the exact amount šŸ˜’ he said they automatically charged 15% for a party of 6 which is fine, except our party of 6 included a 2 yr old baby in which they said they weren’t charging for. TIPS is….TO INSURE PROPER SERVICES, providing a ticket to our table would also be considered services. So I’ll respectfully pass on this place next time I want to take...

I met the owner/manager in Sam's and after a brief conversation he suggested that I give them a try. Well I drove 50 minutes through stormy weather just to sit and wait and watch people who had come at least 15 to 30 minutes after me received their food. After a 30 minute wait I asked my waitress about my order, she replied that my was behind the people who had come after me but I would get it soon. After another 15 minute wait, I decided to leave and asked the manager what my cost for the setup, he decline to charge me and offer me free food which I refused because I pay for my meals and tip very well. I am not sure if it was the color of my skin or because I was eating alone and the staff thought the bigger groups would tip them more or simply a combination of both. That was my first visit and my only visit, i eat out a lot and will travel great distances for good food but I refuse to tolerate bad service for whatever the reason. I wasted 2 hours and 30 minutes, and yes...
