Dairy Queen Grill & Chill — Restaurant in Homerville

Good food at an out of the way place. We were driving across the great Peach State on New Year's Day and just didn't see anything that interested us as we went through Valdosta. So a little later down the road we figured we'd give this DQ a try. We ate here a number of years ago and weren't very impressed. Today was different. Don't know if an adult was on site - appeared to a bunch of teenagers running the show. They did a fairly good job. Very slow to acknowledge us and take our orders. But once that hurdle was crossed everything was spot on. Our orders came out quickly, everything was toasty/tasty, each order was correct. Went through the drive through and got a small dipped Cone with our food, food was correct but it took a while for them to actually take our order and there was no one else there 🙃 got the Cone and it was disappointing. Supposed to have a bit more than what it did and when we mentioned it, they didn't fix it or act like they wanted to. Several times before I've gotten blizzards from here and they don't tip them upside down and sometimes it's mostly just vanilla underneath the top decoration. I've had to replace a blizzard I got twice before because something was wrong with it. "D.Q" as we know it , is much more than just a great burger freshly made fries and and your choice of the countless ways to do your soft serve ice cream! It's actually a major part of the identity of our small but hungry home town. I. Myself have eaten here for decades and honestly I believe this has been the best it's ever been. And it's been pretty much great the rest of the time. No. It doesn't do anything any different than any other dairy queen. It just does all the things right. Consistently.
