Salty Hook Sandwich Shop — Restaurant in Homosassa Springs

Over the years I had the pleasure of doing business on several occasions with the owners of Salty Hook Bait and tackle and their soon to be open Salty Hook Sandwich Shop. I bought some local honey from their bait and tackle shop a few weeks ago which was some of the best honey I ever had, and I was told by the store owners that they’re opening a sandwich shop next door to their bait and tackle shop and they should be ready by the second week of February. I prefer supporting family owned businesses especially seeing how well organized, professional and friendly the owners of salty hook are. Their store has an inviting nautical atmosphere with everything you need for fishing and very clean too. When I heard they were opening up a new sandwich shop I was very happy. The owner Sheila talked about the kinds of foods and beverages she will be offering, and after that it made me more excited for opening day! I am a critic when it comes to food and quality standards. Due to their work ethics, friendliness, professionalism, focus on quality, their enthusiasm about their businesses, and being supportive of other local businesses, I will continue supporting both of their businesses. They are planning on having their new sandwich shop opening on February 14th 2025 and after I have my first official dining experience there I will update this review to reflect...

Stopped by Salty Hook Sandwich Shop before heading out on a boat trip, and I’m glad I did. Hands down, these are the best subs in Crystal River, Florida. Everything was fresh, made to order, and absolutely loaded with flavor. Whether you're looking for a quick lunch, the perfect takeout before a day on the water, or just a solid sandwich shop near King's Bay or the Crystal River waterfront, this is your spot.

The staff was friendly, fast, and made sure everything was right. Way better than waiting at the Publix deli. Salty Hook is local, convenient, and knows how to stack a sub that holds up on the boat.

This place is amazing. Amazing atmosphere, management, hospitable staff, great choice of sandwiches. Where else can you get a fried bologna or spam sandwich if you’re feeling it ? Being under new management has turned this sandwich shop into an awesome stop on your way to the beach or fishing or just because you want a good sandwich. Gary and Sheila are knocking it out of the park.

Added note: They are super accommodating with diet restrictions and needs too. They can make zero carb options with the zero carb tortillas! Holy smokes that was good and filling. Thank you for making adjustments...
