🌮 Alejandro’s Mexican Food – Flavor That Slaps, Vibes That Stick šŸŒ¶ļøšŸ”„

Let’s get one thing straight—Alejandro’s is NOT your average taco joint. This place brings the kind of authentic, mouth-watering Mexican food that hits your soul and keeps you coming back for more. You walk in and immediately get that cool, laid-back neighborhood vibe—music pumping, kitchen sizzling, people laughing, and the smell of seasoned carne asada floating through the air. You know you’re in for something good.

I rolled in with a crew of ridiculously good-looking friends—the kind of group that makes you look like the designated driver in every photo šŸ˜…. But hey, I’m not mad about it—they brought the eye candy, I brought the appetite. Fair trade. And when our food hit the table? Game over. Total silence, except for happy chewing sounds and the occasional ā€œDamn, that’s good.ā€

Let’s talk about the tacos: legit next-level. Perfectly seasoned meats, fresh toppings, tortillas that don’t fall apart like a cheap knockoff. The birria? Juicy, flavorful, and served with consommĆ© so good it could bring peace to the world šŸŒ. The salsas? They don’t just bring the heat—they bring depth šŸŒ¶ļøšŸ§„. You can taste the love and tradition in every bite.

Bonus points for the service—fast, friendly, and full of personality. These folks hustle with pride and treat you like familia. The place gets busy, and for good reason, but the line moves fast and the payoff is šŸ”„šŸ”„šŸ”„.

Look, whether you're local, just visiting, or just looking to impress your hot friends with food that matches their energy, Alejandro’s delivers. No gimmicks, no fluff—just bold, honest, delicious Mexican food that speaks for itself.

10/10. I’d happily go back again—even if I end up being the least photogenic one in the group...

Had a friend recommend this place after hearing me complain about there not being any good Mexican food on this island. It took me awhile to finally get over to try it since it's not in a convenient location for me, but I'm glad I finally got the chance.

It's a small order at the counter, hole-in-the-wall type place and then an adjoining bar next door that has some more bar height tables if you want to eat there. The guy at the counter was friendly. The place was pretty busy for late lunch time. It's a small/limited menu...tacos, burritos, bowls and such, with your choice of meat. I got the taco combo that included 3 tacos (one ground beef, one carnitas, one carne asada) and it came with beans, rice, and a drink. Prices are reasonable (for Hawaii).

Now to the important part...the food. The beans and rice were fine. Good but nothing to write home about and the portion was pretty small. The tacos are served street style and the corn tortillas were really good. They were not dry and held up well. The carne asada had good flavor but was pretty dry and a little chewy. The ground beef was not my favorite but my 3 year old liked it. The stand out was the carnitas. Great flavor, moist, a little greasy with yummy crispy bits just like it should be. I loved it so much I went and ordered another single carnitas taco. šŸ˜‹ I also really liked the taco sauces they had. A red and a green. They are thin and a bit watery but still had a nice flavor and added a touch of heat.

I will definitely be back to have some more carnitas! Wish they were closer to...

Amaze balls. We were driving to the Botanic Gardens and found this place on Google, reviews were good so we stopped. Everyone said it was to go only but there is a bar with seating. Tiffany was a delight, the actual bar was so unique and cool, there’s a restroom, music, TVs and, of course, the tacos. Oh. Em. Gee. We are from Colorado and we have some amazing Mexican food. We even have our favorite hole in the wall taco joint run by a mom and daughter. Alejandro’s tacos were fire. I mean, we love our taco place at home but holy moly we wish we could take Alejandro’s tacos home!!! I had shredded chicken and they were so juicy and flavorful and delish!!! Hubby had carnitas and asada. So. So. Yum!! The rice and beans weren’t terrible but weren’t anything to rave about so next time (tomorrow) we’ll just do tacos. We literally talked about the tacos the rest of the afternoon and evening yesterday! I’m not sure if the place is exactly accessible and the parking is scant but you definitely need to try it! At least for take out! But the music was jammin’, the beer was cold and the folks friendly and we loved it! One of our favorite things about traveling is finding the unexpected and being blown away. This was totally one of those experiences! We will tell everyone we know visiting Oahu to look up Alejandro’s. And hopefully Tiffany...

Three co-workers and I went to have lunch at Alejandro’s Tacos in Kalihi Valley. This was my first visit; the other three had gone there previously. We lucked out; there was a car pulling out as we arrived, so we scored a parking space. Serendipity! We sat in the bar next door. I started with a Corona ($6); what’s Mexican food without a Corona? Not happening, at least for me. The others were good with glasses of water. I ordered the #2 Taco Combo (a beef, a carnitas and a carne asada taco), Spanish rice and pinto beans ($16.50). Another ordered #3 Taco Combo (a carnitas and two carne asada tacos) with the Spanish rice and pinto beans ($17.50) and the others ordered the wet burrito combo plate ($16). We added two orders of chips and salsa ($6.75 each). Our orders came very quickly … The tacos were so flavorful. I poured salsa over my Spanish rice to moisten it; the pinto beans still retained their shape … not cooked down to become refried beans. I really liked my #2 combo. My only quibble is I would have wanted freshly fried tortilla chips. I think the ones we got were made somewhere else ... they reminded me of potato chips. Alejandro’s is a hidden gem … seek it out, you won’t be disappointed. Highly recommended!
