Chuby's — Restaurant in Hood River

The reason Chuby's is getting 4 stars from me is that it is exactly what it is supposed to be. What does thay really mean? I think it fits in perfectly for where it is and serves the area well with a nice combination of locals from diverse cultures, just like the population in the surrounding area. The is not any pretension at this place. People are doing their own thing and enjoying themselves, whether it is sitting alone at the bar and having a BLT sandwich with fries on your lunch break, or having a spread of Mexican food with family or friends, or just having a soda or beer and playing video lottery games in the back with a few other locals. This place has great Mexican food the owner Cook's really fine meals. And for the price there's plenty of it. They also have one of the busiest poker rooms for gaming, so be prepared to wait a few minutes for your own machine. you might also be aware that they are closed now on Saturdays as well as Sundays during the weekends. It does get busy in there sometimes and there aren't always enough employees to get to you right away. If you choose to it's a great place to just relax. As well as they have a colorful crowd.
