I will start with the food was amazing. Our waitress was great. However the Hostest was less than acceptable. She started off the evening by insulting my friend upon check in. We did have a reservation but she was extremely unprofessional. We were early and decided to have a drink at the bar before dinner. The drinks were amazing and the bar staff was great. We sat outside under the trees waiting for our table. My friend was paged so we went back to the hostess station. She saw us approaching and left to seat other people. However, after standing there for 3-4 minutes I decided to see what happened to her. She was standing in the bar looking at her iPad. She saw me and stated oh yeah I guess I texted you and walk back to the her station where my friends and wife were standing and made the same remark to them. We were seated and things were good until just before our dinner arrived and she came out and moved the table behind us and that in turn moved the umbrella at that table and left us in direct sunlight. I stated that you just moved our shade and she was extremely rude stating you have your own umbrella and she had to move things around for a large party. Although when she moved tables she actually put them directly in front of the stairway that is an egress point for the deck. If she had moved both tables to the North then we and tables to our side would have still had shade. So we ate our dinner in direct sunlight while the walkway with no tables were shaded because of her bad decision. So after dinner we asked to speak to the manager to express our concerns about the hostess. Well I guess the hostess is not only the manager but she stated she is the owner. Not sure she took the feedback well and made excuses that were so off the wall that I could not believe what she was saying. Oh I was just joking with your friend and it was a big party so they needed more room. We were the only table in the middle row on the deck that was in full sunlight. So needless to say I'm not sure we will be back due to her poor attitude. At least apologize for your behavior and learn from your mistakes. Again it's a shame that her attitude overshadowed the other staffs amazing job of making our friends anniversary dinner special. And again the food and drinks were amazing, which is the only reason we...
Read moreIâve worked in the service industry my entire career and have close family members who own restaurants, so Iâm typically very understanding when it comes to service-related issues. However, our experience at The Pearl this evening was disappointing enough that I feel compelled to share this feedback in hopes it leads to improved service in the future.
Weâve dined at The Pearl several times. While our first visit was excellent, each subsequent visit has been increasingly underwhelming, tonight being, unfortunately, the worst.
We had a 6:00 PM reservation for six guests to celebrate both my birthday and my husbandâs new job. We arrived at 5:50 and were told our table wasnât ready yet, but that weâd receive a text when it was. That message didnât come until 6:41 PM â over 40 minutes later.
Once seated, we were given water but not greeted by a server. At 7:00, after no interaction, my husband had to go find someone. Our server finally arrived at 7:05, apologized, and took our order. By 7:45, we still hadnât received our drinks, and with our 6-month-old growing understandably fussy, my husband asked if we could have two of the meals packaged to-go. The request was initially denied, but after some polite insistence, the server agreed.
At 8:00 PM, all six meals were brought to the table â none to-go. We had to ask again for boxes, which were eventually brought out.
This was, without question, the worst service weâve experienced here. Nearly two hours after our reservation time, weâre now heading home with food that will be cold by the time we get the opportunity to eat it, and a frustrating experience. I sincerely hope The Pearlâs management takes a closer look at staffing, training, and overall service operations. Without meaningful improvements, Iâm not sure weâll be...
Read moreA lot of hype not great results. To start they have a VERY limited menu with little options. My family of five ate there last night and ordered pasta and pork. Let's start with the pork, by far one of the best pieces of pork I've ever had. Sadly it was covered with distractions! The layers that were meant to add did nothing but take away from a great piece of meat. I suggest dropping everything but the chili sauce creamed corn and add a side of asparagus and red potatoes. Let the meat stand on it's own! The pasta had excellent flavor with a squash filling that was superb. But it was over whelmed with a cream sauce that was so salty it ruined the rest of the plate. Simplify the plates and let them stand on their own! The chef has the right idea but strays from what makes truly good plates, great. The service was flighty and SUPER SLOW! Plenty of staff so that wasn't an excuse. Aside from the entrees I ordered two appetizers and received neither, I ordered a second blue moon to find they were sold out. After dinner I ordered a sundae for my grand daughter along with a vanilla ice cream for myself and only received the sundae. This is NOT what you expect from a five star rating. I do wish you the best because there are strong foundations that...
