Our recent visit to Hillbilly Hall encapsulated all that is challenging AND all that is wonderful about small-scale, family-run restaurants.
In hindsight we should have called ahead. We did not, and arrived on a late Saturday afternoon to this charming, rustic tavern to find it very quiet. It was super loud and they heard everything, served everything quickly and correctly. One girl behind the bar, whose name i did get for the purpose of this review but escapes me now cos i was hammered was brilliant. Did everything to make us feel welcome. In fact everyone did! Jay who loves the Who was a super nice guy and Jim and Mike spent a few hours spanking my brother and dad at pool. One of the best nights of my trip! Loved it!...

A poster child established for a bar rescue Jon taffer takeover resuscitation if Iāve ever seen one. They openly acknowledge thereās just no business anymore and itās just sad and depressing now. Hoping itās not the end but I donāt see a path forward without serious changes and money...
