Servers = 10 of 10 Food = 6 of 10 Portion Size = 15 of 10 HUGE Price = 15 of 10 very cheap! Seating parking etc = 9 of 10

I have been there a few times recently and the service is great but the food is hit or miss. Here is what I have found.

Curley Fries are a huge portion but they are never properly cooked. I even ask for them crispy and some still come out uncooked. This is their signature item and I just don’t understand how they consistently server them improperly cooked. Look at some of the pics others have posted and you can see that some are brown and some aren’t cooked at all.

Straight fries are pretty great.

Fried Chicken is great but they will serve it to you after it sits there for a long time and is kinda chewy. When it’s fresh you won’t find better but on our last trip they said we needed to wait 15min for a fresh batch and we said no problem but they then gave us old chicken that wasn’t really hot and had been sitting quite awhile.

Burgers are hit or miss. The huge 1lb burger is fantastic with fresh meat and good for 3 meals at like $12. BUT, the 1/4 Burger is from a box and wasn’t really warm and tasted like WalMart.

We have had the roast beef, steak sandwich, and a few other things and they were really good!

Kids meals are HUGE! One meal easily feeds 2 kids but don’t order the Kids pizza as it’s from a box and microwaved.

Overall we have noticed that it’s better if it’s not busy and overall for this region it’s about as good as you can get, especially for the price, but it’s not really a...

Today we stopped, like we normally do on our way back from Bedford. My husband,3 kids and I. We get all you can eat chicken, spagetti, veal, and chicken parm. The meals today as far as using angel hair pasta, was very slim, and hardly any sauce. My son wanted more spaghetti, went up to counter and sat. We waited 15 minutes, still waiting. I went up paid for our food. Never once said look you had to wait so long, I won't charge you. Or I'll give you a little extra. Nope. Size was very small child size. Now remember its all you can eat. Same with the veil, and chicken parm. Very small portions. Now this meal cost me $58.00 for what? My family had to come home and eat. Sad! I even had to ask for more lettuce to be put out. If you can't please your customers, you will loose them. And if your 1 waitress can't handle 3 tables, employ more. I seen your remodeling your kitchen. So either close while doing it, if you can't keep you food going, when its all you can eat. Very unhappy customer. Get more...

Roadside diners in the countryside are a real gamble. They can be phenomenal home-style high quality meals that steal your heart, or they can be low quality pre-packaged greasy food that sits in your stomach like a sack of wet cement.

Much to our disappointment, this place is definitely the latter. The marinara sauce came out in individual packets, as did the “lemon juice” for our water. The cheese in the cheese sticks had an almost powdery texture, the fried chicken was simultaneously greasy but also somehow dry and doughy, the fries were very greasy with no salt (and though we ordered curly fries, we got shoestring), and the vegetable soup had an unusually sweet taste.

The final insult came when it was time to pay. We were charged a 5% “service fee” for using a credit card.

The only bright spots were the coffee, ranch dressing, and chicken patties, all of which were decent.

Otherwise, our meals were...

We ordered the fried chicken and the ham dinner and they were both excellent. The salad bar those small was stocked with a nice selection to make a small salad and was kept fresh and full while we were there. The macaroni salad and coleslaw are amazing. Our server Peggy was prompt friendly and professional. The prices were very very reasonable. The restaurant was also very clean. We will dine here again.

We stopped here for a late lunch after a visit to the Bedford Fall Foliage Festival. My wife and I wanted a quieter sit down restaurant to spend some time with our grandson - the food and beverage lines at the festival were long and seating was limited. We liked the festival and seeing all of the vendors and people - but we were happy we found the Kountry Kettle. The food and service were great!
