We went at 6pm on a Friday night. There were two people working the front: handling the hosting, waitressing, bartending, table bussing, and cash register. Maybe it was a staffing issue. But for that reason, service was slightly slow. No big deal. The woman and teenage waitress both did an excellent job of managing their time and handling all of their duties efficiently. No points against them.
The bartender made our drinks well and my wife and I enjoyed them very much. I had a rum and coke, she had a strawberry margarita, which she says was excellent.
We got a bunch of appetizers to really check out the kitchen. Their sampler included 2 chicken tenders, 2 fried pickles, 2 mozzerella sticks and french fries. Each item was cooked perfectly crispy and had great flavor. We also ordered the garlic knots (cooked fluffy inside with a slightly firm outside. solid ratio of garlic, parm and salt) and the fried calamari with jalapeños (generous portion of each with a marinara dipping sauce that served as a nice compliment.
My wife usually orders pasta with an aglio and olio sauce, but we didn't see the option wasn't on the 8-page menu. She ended up ordering a pasta with marinara sauce that she thought was bland and green peppers that didn't taste seasoned. My 13 year old daughter enjoyed her baked spaghetti. To the restaurants credit, this is her favorite place to eat.
I ordered a meaty spaghetti to try the house meatballs, sausage and pepperoni, which turned out to be a mistake. When the dish was served, it looked to be full of pepperoni and cheese, but there was no meatball or sausage visible. I asked the waitress if she brought me the correct dish, to which she said she didn't think my dish was supposed to include the missing meatballs or sausage. I asked her to bring me the menu, we verified that I was correct, and I then asked her if she could bring out the missing items. When she came back, she told me that they chef knew he put meatballs and sausage on my plate. The waitress stated her opinion that the sausage might be small. I asked her to watch me fork through the dish and asked if she saw either a meatball or any sausage. Neither she nor I found anything and I declined the dish, as without the other meats, it was not what I ordered. She took it to the back, and the chef entered the dining room to confront me about sending back the dish. He claimed that the meats were on my plate (after the waitress and I had confirmed they were not) and was surprised that I declined to let him make me something else. Admittedly, the reason that I didn't want him to make me something else was because when we forked through the first entree in search of meat, I noticed that his meat sauce was watery and that his pasta was a cheap, store-bought product, rather than homemade.
The food here is fine for what it is. This is a local eatery in a small town. Their fried foods and bar products were great. But this is not authentic Italian food and it does not appear to be made with any love...
Read moreI Really dont like leaving bad reviews, especially with Small businesses. But this place has got to make some serious changes. Ive been here 4 separate occasions, on different days of the week, during different times of the year. Today I decided we won't be returning. The young lady who has been our "waitress" every time, is just not good. She will forget food , get your order wrong, dissappear for 3/4s of your meal. And just overall doesnt quite understand most of what you say to her unfortunately. $20+ dollars for microwaved ravioli is just not acceptable. Piping hot plate and hard cold interior to ravioli is a clear sign of microwaved food. Nothing we ate here was fresh or delicious. The fried foods all tatse like they've been frozen for months and are reheated in a deep fryer making the outside way overcooked and interior mushy. The pizza is decent, but not even close to worth the cost they ask for it. And to add insult to injury their listed menu prices are NOT what they charge you. Everything we ordered was higher priced on our bill than was listed on the menu. And when we brought up the discrepancy, the lady at the front said" im sorry, we will bring it up with the owner"... no attempt to fix their problem, lower the bill or even give a damn at all. Sorry this place needs a MAJOR overhaul. I understand increased pricing, but you must raise the bar of quality if your going to attempt to get high end italian restaurant prices. We will not return and recommend if youre considering trying here, try literally...
Read moreWent to Brother’s with my niece that just came back form VT for the Summer she ordered a Cheeseburger meal, I ordered a Stromboli with light cheese, chicken and pepperoni the waitress brought out the Cheeseburger meal it was totally wrong sent it back then she brought out the correct one. My Stromboli took almost 20 minutes later to come out after my niece had her food which the two meals should have came out together, the Cheeseburger meal was fine but the Stromboli was the worst I have ever had or seen it had very little pepperoni or chicken but more cheese then anybody would want it also had ricotta cheese I didn’t order a calzone so the Stromboli should of never had the ricotta cheese after telling the waitress light cheese I guess they put a lot of cheese on it to cover up that there was basically no chicken or pepperoni on the Stromboli, over half went to the trash because it was disgusting. Order a pepperoni pizza to take to my sister the pizza was alright nothing to brag home about. 3-5 years ago this was one of the best places to eat I don’t know what changed or happened it might of just been a...
