We have gone weekly, or every other week for about a year now - what has happened recently??? Always liked but something has changed??
4 weeks ago tried the prime rib, almost inedible, full of fat so tough I couldn’t hardly cut with a steak knife. Mentioned politely to waitresses, she said not the first to complain. Shared politely with mgr, he knocked a whole $6 off. Didn’t eat half.
2 weeks ago, ordered “sizzler” which I’ve had numerous times, served way undercooked, they were busy so I didn’t complain.
Tonight, ordered sizzler again (medium) came to table very rare, red almost all the way through. Too rare for me to eat, so politely asked to be cooked more. Waitress asked if I wanted my fries, I said I would like some warm fries when they brought my steak back. Minutes later mgr came over and put my fries back on the table. I asked him why after I requested warm fries with my meal? They bring steak out minutes later, asked me to check it, still red all the way through. I asked manager if that looked medium to him, his response was “that’s looks about like we do it here” Took back again, 3rd time was almost medium rare, I just accepted due to the fact my poor wife was eating alone. Meanwhile my coffee was empty, cup sitting at the end of the table, never refilled at all. Waitress walked over and asked my wife if she wanted a refill on her soda, never asked me or acknowledged the empty coffee cup!!
I hate to complain, and when I did I was very polite about it, not wanting other patrons to hear, or embarrass my wife.
But this is 3 times in a row, I tipped the first two waitresses well, not this time after coffee left empty.
Over $130-$140 spent on 3 poor experiences.
Won’t risk...
Read moreWas there at noon today when they opened. Ordered the 1/2 chicken dinner with mashed potatoes & corn. It's so nice to have real mashed potatoes in a restaurant as most use instant. The chicken was perfect...the right balance of crispy fried outside & tender & moist inside. It literally fell off the bone. We were seated immediately & waitress came right away for beverage requests & then to get our order. A different person brought our meals. We had no further interaction with staff during our meal or to ask if we needed beverage refills. I moved my glass to the end of the table which is code for 'fill it up'. We finished our meals, moved our stacked dishes to the end of the table (code for 'ready for the bill'). The waitress came then & I got a box for the part of the meal i couldn't finish. For management, if you've read this far. I've been in the food industry for many years. Please train staff to check back with customers within the first few minutes of delivering the meal to verify everything was fine. It wasn't as 3 butter pats for 4 slices of bread, mashed potatoes & corn for 2 people wasn't. Then train them to check back towards the end to offer dessert, etc. Bonus if they check on need for beverage refills as well. We tipped at the highest level as the fault seemed to be with management in training rather...
Read moreI ordered the fried fish. It was $9.00. 2 small pieces of fish and some potato chips. For an extra $2.50, you can get french fries and cole slaw or applesauce or cottage cheese. Now we're up to $11.50. Way too much money for this mediocre food. And you have to add you drink. The server was absolutely rude. All the tables were empty except one. We selected a table and the waitress asked us to change tables closer to the door because at 7pm there was a card playing club coming in. It was 5:30pm. We didn't move because the tables by the door were drafty. At approximately 6:40pm she came to the table and essentially asked us to leave because the card players were scheduled to arrive. My my what a poor way to do business. There were no signs reserving any tables. If you want expensive food and be tested poorly, this is the place for you. There will be an empty table because our group will not be returning. Do waste your time on this country bumpkin...
