1st visit - Can't get takeout orders right! Paid for 6 meals and they only gave us five. Crooks! They argued and tried to deny it, but realized they messed up. They don't give out receipts to customers so this makes things extra difficult when they do make mistakes. Had to drive 30 minutes round trip to go back to pick the meal up. Terrible first experience. Doubtful to go back. One Star.

2nd visit - Only ordered two things, a Buffalo Chicken wrap and a Thai Chicken wrap. No way they could mess this up right? Well, they didn't. Everything was correct, and everything tasted very good! No complaints. Noticed that the side order of pasta salad had almost doubled since the first visit. The first visit they tucked the pasta salad into the corner of take-out package. Very, very, little. This second time it was packed in all across the side, almost double the 1st visit. This is what I paid for! 1 star bumped up to 3.

3rd visit - Ordered six take-out meals again and everything I paid for was there like it should have been. I got the BBQ Chicken and it was very good. The pasta salad was again packed into the box like it should be and it tasted great! No complaints. 3 stars bumped to 5.

In conclusion, I had a terrible first experience. The owners made me out to be the bad guy, when they messed my order up and stole money from me! They made resolving it a nightmare and made me out to be the villain when they messed up. I waited months before going back because I thought they might spit in my food the way they treated me the first time. They made a Mcdonalds level mistake the 1st time, what makes you think they'd act different from them? 2nd time no complains. Food was great, same with the 3rd. Will def be going back!

My Response to Owner: I'm not going to play the he said, she said game with you. What happened, happened, and I'm going to leave it in the past. I understand that we are human and for that I accept your apology. Thats all I wanted in the first place. Just couldn't believe that a place with such highly positive reviews like yours would stoop to making a McDonald's level mistake. Makes me wonder who else this has...

We came here hoping for a late breakfast, but they only had lunch menus out (Granted it was almost noon) They did bring us a breakfast menu, and said half of it was available, while the other half with the pancakes and such is labeled "Not available at Night" which is kind of ambiguous. They clarified that night= after 11am.

One waitress took our drink order right away, then we saw another party sat down, order their food, and receive it before anyone checked in to take our food order. Granted, this was about a 10 minute time span but we felt like we were doing something wrong, perhaps. I wondered if I was supposed to go to the counter but the other party was served promptly at their table throughout.

We both ended up getting burgers and they were excellent. Throughout the meal it seemed like a different staff member popped up to check in on us as they did their rounds, a little unusual.

Another strange thing is that my husband noticed the check had us listed as "D.U.M. table" which... Is not a good look no matter what its supposed to mean. Really I didn't care because I was satisfied with my meal and just wanted to go but it was the cherry on top that made me feel like I was doing something wrong or intruding or inconveniencing some of the staff then entire time I was here.

I do my best to do my research before showing up places but I feel like I missed out on the secret handshake or whatever everyone else there knew how to do.

4 stars though, because the food was good and I know running a small restaurant is hard, they stand out where they are, it was a good value, etc etc, and I'm sure they take care of their regulars but I don't know if I will be back personally. Try to roll with the punches, if you do drop in. You'll get a decent meal out of...

Wow, just wow! Go look at that poached egg and tell me you wouldn't eat here.

The atmosphere here is energizing, you can't not feel uplifted the moment you enter. The decor is eclectic, fun, and engaging, feeding your eyes while you wait to feed your soul.

Several local artists on display, trinkets for purchase and a whole bakery case I didn't even grab a picture of. Fresh bakery items were constantly being rolled out while we were there.

Seating is limited so get there early or be prepared to wait. Outdoor seating looks like it would be an amazing people watching spot when the weather turns warmer.

Ashley the owner was our waitress, to say that she is everything you want in a host is an understatement. She cares about what she serves and had the passion about how she serves it.

Coffee was several blends of a local brew called White Mountain Coffee, fully stocked Coffee bar with hot or cold options.

The food, this was a tough choice, but in the end, the pulled pork benny served on homemade cornbread, house pickled jalapeños, homemade hollandaise and house smoked pulled pork won me over, it was out of this world!

Mississippi roots have found a place to settle in Contoocook, NH. This is definitely one of those secret finds that you want to tell everyone about but then keep it all to yourself.
