Grizzly Den — Restaurant in Hoquiam

I am always looking for a good burger and this place did not disappoint. The food was fantastic. In looking at the other reviews before going, I read that the food can take awhile to come out. This was true, BUT fresh food takes time to make and this was worth the wait. I also read that the place is pricey. That was also true, BUT the quality of the product, along with making it fresh to order (hot), again, makes it worth it. Other things that made this place nice was the nice employees. She was very patient with us in trying to decide what to have since we have never been. They also have a nice outdoor, covered area, behind the restaurant to eat outside in. Opposite of the road traffic. The restaurant appeared clean. It was also nice that you could clearly watch your order being prepared behind the counter. Nice bonus.

Fresh, smashed burger patties. Not frozen!

The cheese sticks passed the "stretch test" and had a great breading. They do not have marinara, and that would be an added bonus if so.

The homemade fries were great! A large was PLENTY for two people who can devour this kind of stuff.

The dipping sauces are KEY for me.

Tarter sauce was excellent.

Ranch, good, but could be a bit more better tasting. I grew up on Uncle Dan's so I am a bit of a snob on my ranch! LOL

I am not a big fry sauce guy in general but the other person with me thought it was great!

I went through the drive through at this establishment , after ordering was ask to park around the side area , no problem . After setting there for about 8 minutes, another person came up to the drive through . Placed their order, after about 17 minutes after they ordered there food was handed out the window to them . And from the size of the bag , it was comparable in size to my own . At this point we had now been waiting 28 minutes ish . I sat in my car for an additional 10 minutes before i had ENOUGH , and went in . When i was addressed by an employee and ask what I needed , as i am telling her the phone rings and i am shined on till after the call . Then after being asked what my order was and explain that , and what the name was on it ,come to find out They hadn’t even started it yet. They were just now starting to work on it she said . By the time we got our food it had been 43 minutes. I don’t know if the people that came after us were their buddies or not but as far as wanting a person to come back to the restaurant, it was highly unethical and completely rude for our order to be pushed back ahead of other people who ordered after . I usually don’t write negative reviews on home town mom and pop restaurants or establishments because I believe in local ownership places to do my business with . I appreciate the young man’s apology for having taken so long, for the record young man it wouldn’t have taken so long if you had done the order when it was up and not done somebody else’s that ordered after first, unfortunately apology...

Hand formed burger patties are thick. Burgers are not just slopped together. The chicken wrap is WONDERFUL!! Very friendly staff

An amendment to the previous post. I have been wanting deep fried mushrooms for a while. So I decided to pick up a cheeseburger for my husband and I, as well as the fried mushrooms. I called the order in and I was told it would be 35 minutes. So I purposely left my house 10 minutes or less away 15 minutes before it would be ready. I did this because I have had problems with cold food before. I always figured that it was my fault. This time when I got there, the lady cashier told me that it was almost finished and what car was I in. I told her and went to my car. I waited... and waited... and waited. Finally about 15 minutes later a young fella comes out with my bag of food. The mushrooms are cold and so are the burgers. I was so mad. Also for $8 there were probably 10 small mushrooms. I brought the food back and they put the shrooms back in the fryer to reheat instead of fresh. The burgers were still cold. The bill was nearly $32 for two regular cheeseburgers and10 mushrooms. From now on I won't get the shrooms because they are a rip off. The burgers were outstanding even though cold. I will either go somewhere else or just go inside to order. I believe they left my order on a counter and forgot about me. This is about the third time I have called in an order only to...
