We stopped here on the way home from a weekend in the mountains. We had been here before, but it is now under new management. There was a band playing. They were good, but man it was too loud! We couldn't hear each other talking. The website and menu mentioned a TON of pies. Slices and whole pies. We were excited to get a couple of whole pies to go. When I asked about the pies the gal said "nope we only have cake." Bummer!! It was pretty busy and a long wait. That wasn't a problem for us as we weren't in a huge hurry. The food finally came and it was actually really good! The bread for the sandwiches was excellent! The service was great. Everyone neas very friendly. The worst part the flies. The flies were driving us crazy! Oh, and across the street at Volcanic Farms by the Chevron they sell pies! 🥳

They’re the only place between State Street and Banks that serve a hot breakfast along the 55. The servers/employees are nice enough, but they’re stretched thin. Food is big portions but hit & miss depending on who’s cooking. When they’re on, it’s FANTASTIC—but when they’re off? Better to skip on bye. Biggest complaint? The flies. They’re EVERYWHERE. Looking around the inside, I never found any signs or attempts of trying to eradicate the flies (door vacuum or blue wall light). They have an open buffet area/salad bar that is a fly magnet. We’ve mentioned the flies to the staff and they kinda just shrugged it off and seemed to just accept the issue. Hope they solve the flies and inconsistencies soon.

The is excellent food! And our server, Elli, was excellent as well even with a busy restaurant and being the only waitress. She nailed it. We had the Gardena Sandwich and an omelette. The bread was superb! Generous portions cooked perfectly. If they had a small ramp on the outside for accessibility, I would have definitely given it 5 stars. There is one good step up to the porch which is challenging for me.

Sadly I cannot recommend this place. Save your money & time. We stopped in on a Sunday about 1:30. We were told to seat ourselves so we did ( no biggie) but the tables were dirty..... We chose a booth in the front. The young gal (she was nice) that came to the table asked us if we were ready to order. I laughed and said we would need menus to do that. I asked for a wash rag to clean our table cause it was sticky. We asked for water also. We got the menus about 10 minutes later. No water....no wash rag. I had to go ask for the waters & wash rag. Cleaned the table myself. When she came to take out order we were told we could only order the breakfast buffet or Hamburgers. They were not serving anything else until 2:00. It was 1:50.....so we chose to wait 10 minutes. After finally getting to order we asked if we could order drinks from the bar or did we need to order them separate. She told us she would add them to our tab. Waited 20 minutes.....no drinks. I went to the bar and nobody was behind the bar... there was however full plate fulls of food left on the bar that people had not eaten.... Went back to the Cafe side and asked. Was told the bartender would be back soon......ok...... I asked if we could add a side of bacon to our order....the response was NO. The one person in the kitchen was so busy rn & just didn't have time! We should have just left then.....there was only 10-12 people in the whole Cafe. My husband ordered a Chili Burger.....it honestly was a soggy bun, with a hamburger Red Kidney Beans, Onion & Cheese. It was pretty bad... I ordered a Cheeseburger & Tots. My burger was fine. Not the best but it wasn't bad. The Tater Tots had the after taste & smell of old oil that needed changed. We did finally get our drinks lolol after our food came out. As we were leaving a older woman had to ask the young waitress to please get her food from the window as it had been sitting there for some time. Used the bathroom on the way out and YUCK! Wished I had seen it before we decided to eat there. Never will again. Sad cause it looks like it could be...

Well, we survived to tell this tale, I feel like there should be a medal awarded afterwards. We came in on a Sunday morning and there was live music. I was thinking that is unusual, this must be a bustling place! We sat down and within minutes all four waitstaff stopped by to take our drink orders. The music was awfully loud for Sunday morning, and as I'm looking around I see homemade sound dampening boards randomly scattered around the room. I've looked into doing this once so I recognized the DYI project but they covered so little of the walls that they had an insignificant effect. I took on the breakfast buffet, not much to praise about other than the thick bacon.👍 Which is why I'm giving this place 2 stars instead of one. I watched as the young brunette waitress with a faded "America" t-shirt, delivered food to a table with a mouth full of biscuit, trying to talk to them while chewing on her biscuit. Oh, the horror! I also watched the servers try to deliver food, not knowing where it went. The lack of waitstaff best practices of having a "section" with named tables seemed oddly oblivious to them. I went to use the restroom and found there was no soap dispenser, but rather the gallon jug of soap on the counter with the lid off. When I returned the same biscuit-eating waitress had just dropped a plate of food onto the floor and was trying to sweep it up, and ended up hitting a customer with the end of the broom stick. With the chaos of it all, we packed up and went to check out by the register, who looked to be a 9 year old. The portions were huge, but not one of us (5) finished their plate...the food didn't make up for all of the...

Our sandwiches and fries/tots were delicious… but I hope the “new owners” get the ants taken care of. Halfway through the meal, we felt like there were things crawling on us… then we found one ant… when we got up to leave, our backsides were crawling with them and they were all over the bench.

If there are standard items not available (such as brisket and salad which several of us wanted), it would have been appropriate to let us know when the server brought us the menus, instead of later when she came to take our orders —which meant we had to look at the menus again since we were unable to order our first choice.

The “new bartender” should know that a “Bacon Bloody Mary” comes with bacon.

The server did ask if we needed anything after we started eating, so one of us asked for more water and she left before any of the rest of us could also ask for more water also. She dropped off the one glass of water and dashed off again before we could say anything.

Finally when we were almost done, she came back to see how we were splitting the ticket, so we had a chance to ask for more water.

She brought the tickets back but by the time she came back with the water, we were ready to pay and leave.

We told them about the ants and they told us “it’s a bad time of year for ants”.

Maybe they think that is enough but I would suggest they take it a bit more seriously than that.

I hope they learn from this and have a...
